Would love an update! We plan on opening a drive through coffee stand 2025 late summer/fall. Located up north of you in Rathdrum! What size building would you recommend? We would like our stand to have adequate storage for a week of supplies, enough room for 2 employees at any time, a walk up window and two drive-through windows. How much should I budget to build? If I wanted to purchase used, what is some must haves? We are budgeting 30k for supplies/equipment, are we too high/low? We are choosing a location, our favorite spot would be a rented corner. C-1 zoning, existing building is a Market-gas station (Lancaster market). We are getting in touch with him about our business plan. He is interested. This will be my second business, my first is a painting contracting business that I plan to use to fund this one. If I cannot come up with the capital, how do I go about funding this project? Thank you so much! And lots of love from us here in Idaho as well.

This was pre-covid. Can't imagine post-covid. I imagine the amount of SB's opening during these times at these rates are unfortunately going through much more difficulties in order to survive. Let alone it probably will double the time for them to start seeing their money back after all costs incurred. Unfortunately it is a waiting game for me at the moment. As Starbucks is on the decline, it is an indicator or general guide to see what consumers have stopped purchasing, and what they are pulling back from. Wishing everyone the best of luck to their endeavors, and that they try their best because that's all we can do.

Thank you so much for this information. Can I park my trailer in any parking lot I want, or do I need some kind of permission to park my trailer?

Would love to hear from someone like @kait5853 of the rural area success. I too am in a rural area and a drive up, take out coffee shed is unheard of. The best we have is McDonald's to get a coffee let alone Fraps and specialty drinks of any kind. Those who I have shared my idea with in my area 100% say " we need this"! Looking for others out here who took the steps and made it work, thanks guys!

Great info. I appreciate your time and help. I am in the planning stage of starting a Coffee trailer in Arizona. Can you estimate how much water would be needed to make a 20oz drink every 21/2 minutes for 2 hours? Including all water needs like washing hands, washing equipment, etc.

One the employee note: I was so sad because I was all-in as a barista and looked after the business as if my own. But my employer didn't have half of my enthusiasm, which killed it for me. I quit exactly a year later. Currently looking for another job.

Hi Bri!! This is so funny to me. I just got home from visiting my mom and family who live in Mountain Home Idaho - she just swung me by one of your shops and we got coffee before a day of moving. She told me all about you and where you started and then we drove by your new building that’s opening. My family has lived there for 23 years. Then I get home and start adding a list of “to watch ” for my cardio session and this HAS TO BE YOU. The world is so small. Congratulations to you, your coffee was amazing! Smile😊

Sooooo many questions! I lived in Seattle for 45 years and recently moved to Florida. There is literally NO DRIVE-THRU COFFEE here! However, Starbucks and Duncan drive-thrus are always busy, so I know there's a demand for it! I feel like a coffee stand would do great here too because those two mega chain places don't have good coffee, and don't do customized coffee orders, they just have their standard drinks, that in my opinion, totally suck! Anyhow, the main reason I haven't opened a stand yet is because I don't have a clue who to approach about possibly renting a corner of their existing commercial lot. I also don't know how to tell if I'd be able to run plumbing and power to the stand, or how to get those utilities up and running. I know there's a bunch of permits I'd need to get first, but it would be really helpful to know 1) How to find out who to contact to negotiate using part of an existing commercial lot, 2) what might make a location relatively easy to run utilities to vs. why it might be more challenging, 3) In one of your videos, you say you worked 14-15 hours a day, 7 days a week in the stand... who took care of ordering supplies, inventory, tracking sales, expenses, revenue, tax write-offs, etc. and 4) How did you make sure that you had all your legal bases covered (had adequate insurance, were charging tax correctly, disposing of waste correctly, had all of the permits you needed, etc.? Did you hire an attorney for that, or just wing it and learn as you go?

I’m so glad you’re back! It took me a few listening sessions but I made it through the whole video. My time mentoring with Brie was amazing! I’m so excited for this next phase of your journey & hope to come see your spaces one day! My question is around online ordering. It doesn’t look like you have the ability for guests to order drinks online or for delivery. I’m curious, if that is true that you do not offer online ordering, why not. I’m unable to have a drive thru at my location and it’s cost prohibitive to move. We have other revenue streams but really want to increase our online ordering presence and boost our cafe sales. Our midwestern community is HEAVILY prone to use a drive thru. But we have lots of area businesses near us that have done online orders with us, marketing is part of the problem. Anyhow, so if you don’t offer online ordering, why not and do you have plans to offer it and what are some of your best marketing tips to reach your local customers. Thanks 💗

Hi thank you for this video 😊 I know you started working alone but for a small coffee shop startup how many employees do you suggest ?
@funtrepreneurs Жыл бұрын
Hi Vanessa! How many employees you have working is totally dependent on how busy you are. I would say one employee can handle up to about 15 customers per hour (that’s about 4 minutes per customer average). From there it’s dependent on how you structure your shop. Do you have food someone needs to be cooking? Do you have someone ringing people out while the other makes the drinks? Etc. hope that helps!
