From what I gathered from the patreon and other talks I saw, DORF team reworked the lighting and switched from shp file ( westwoods sprite structure) to a more modern file structure to support the lighting changes. That is why developments been slow as of recent.

First two are cheesy even compared to Total annihilation, bed time finish later if I'm bored.

im surprised you didn't mention AoM Retold, and for me in that list only Tempest Rising looks promising, i tried both demos and 2nd demo was decent but still needs more work to be put in

I tried out the demos for all of those, Global Conflagration is the most fun one for me so far, with Tempest Rising and Stormgate sharing the #2 spot, Ratten Reich felt very disappointing at least on their last demo, and the other two feel like a different genre and not really classic RTS style.

I had 55 on both cold and lightning resistance and only died a couple of times before killing him...my bugaboo was my storm crows kept dying and you can't just stand there to res them...I found that eventually they disappear completely and you can call them again

As veteran PoE player i had all res to max. My single target sentinel skill is smite heal. So I could basicly ignore every mechanic in P1 & P3 and stand still holding 1 key down. (First play through with no fancy items)

I tried this boss at level 53, I laughed when you said you're under levelled at 81, now I feel no shame in levelling up a bit and trying again.

If my mage taught me anything is that I have to be constantly moving anyway due to the lack of armor mages have.... Though there are passives to raise those and I should probably invest some points into it instead of focusing it all on damage.

Impossible for my MM i fucked that character so much i get one shot by the waves, i need to play perfect phase 1 and 2 but 3 is impossible with my shitty build.

I dont think Diablo 4 can compete because its not a good game. I tried the Beta test and just wasnt interested because i had played last epoch since 2019 and knew right away that it was the proper spiritual successor to Diablo 2

I think with the waves they either always go clockwise or counter clockwise. It's fairly predictable. Seems most people have trouble with this part.

The boss fights are so bad. The campaign was very lacking.

If you stand on the far left corner, on the stairs, half behind the wall, none of his attacks can hit you. Easy way to cheese this fight.

NOBODY has resistances capped by the time they reach Lagon. I went out of my way just to get 3 resists capped by this point.

Coming from POE (only) this game has everything needed for success! Only minor problem atm (you can play Last Epoch now, just not on v1.0 in a couple of days) it lags a lot, too much so near release. I hope they will have 100X more server capacity!...

Thanks for putting this video out. I’m about to get this game, probably tomorrow… I’m already bored of D4 with only one character at level 50. I’m a bit disappointed about Diablo 4 after having really great memories playing Diablo 2 back in the day, easily having hundreds of hours into it back in highschool and early college.

I played this game shortly after it released and when attempting to sneak up on a Cuman camp at night north of the Inn at the Glades I got attacked, panicked and tried to survive in the pitch dark. Luckily there was only one and I managed to kill him, I looted him and it surprised me he had some items on him usually worn by guards in Rattay. I assumed he had stolen them. I did some more side and main quests and after returning to town a few in-game days later I got thrown in jail for killing a guard. More than 5 years later and it is still a mystery to me what that town guard did all the way up north in the forest in the dark, and why did he attack me? But I love this game and started playing it again recently, this time with the DLCs. Best RPG ever, great review, thanks!

just played this demo. i'm really digging it. played through both gdf and tempest. i like tempest more. those rocket dudes are so good! this was also a really good video! a lot more in depth than i was expecting, which is nice. i learned a lot about the game.

for me sucks that the second game loses some identity and iconic gimmicks that its predecessor has, while not 're-supplying' those loses with other iconic and new stuff. Making it different is not a problem imo, but the execution is at fault in so many of the design choices etc the combat is def improved but lacks what made the first game combat so different from other games. So far, the game feels different from the first one, but at cost of being too close to other games of the genre

If you have the "Woman's Lot" DLC, it lets you go on more dates with Theresa. The DLC itself also fleshes out the town of Skalitz a lot, giving it a bit more back story, makes it a place that, as you said, "Henry cares about" rather than just "that place you ran away from."

What mod did you use for the arrows? I'm always losing the damn things.
