in 2021 They said John's 250 lbs, 190cm, Which is 6 foot 2. John BARELY hits 5'11. So I'm going to go with this match was a 70 lb weight gap, 46 vs a retiree, 7 inches in height, and alllll the drugs and HGH in Devon's Favor. Fair match. In all seriousness, if this match never took place * it shouldn't have * Or if the match in 08' never happened * it shouldn't have, he was hurt* It wouldn't be 4-2 Brzenk, it would be 4-0 Brzenk. lol!

devon is just not the same since the surgery, almost every sport when pro athlete made surgery due to an injury they will recover but the potential is never the same, devon does still fighting but hes not the same like before

It's more than justified to give Devon credit for this awesome win regardless of the context but it would be hard for any serious follower of the sport to argue that Devon could beat the best version of John 6-0. There's a reason John is considered the goat even by some of the best in the business INCLUDING Devon. The man has beaten numerous elite arm-wrestlers against whom you'd have thought he had no chance. Brzenk was a monster. He's been known to not be afraid to lose, always willing to compete. So, the odd loss without the knowledge of surrounding context isn't a reliable indicator of his stature

After watching this again, it's so clear that John's wrist was hurt. He still competed nonetheless, but he would've given a much better fight at 100%. That's not, however, to take away from how good Devon was that day.

It’s the same setup for both of them, the ref took time to make there hand and wrist straight, it was fair and square, don’t underestimate Devon, even if you don’t like the guy he still is one the best

That's where the fight starts. Devon won every aspect of the match. Doesn't lessen John's legacy. 25 years of absolute dominance.

@@gabrielc6252 I don' think people realize how often matches start in a technically unfair manner. Most Bagent matches are early starts, Jerry has his shoulder half way across the table, John has some trickery as far as covering thumb knuckles, Devon gases people out with restarts and foul manipulation. Most pullers start carving in as soon as the ref touches their hands. It's more art than science. People don't even agree about how to apply the strap, or if the buckle matters (it matters when I pull, that's for sure). You can always watch WAF or PAL matches if you want every single little foul to be called. Good luck staying awake through those yawn fests that end on fouls half the time.
