Was such fun to be at this, back in the before times. Hearing them play it again at King Tut's in November (2021) all I could think was what a terrible idea it'd be for everyone to share a glass!

I prefer to hear shanties sung without instruments to be honest . You can’t beat harmonies 👍🏿 !

The best sea shanties are sung live with a big group. Like this. You don't even have to be able to sing.

Amazing performance by the band, but the humming you did while filming was uncalled for. No offense

Amazing video, but the comment you made while watching was uncalled for. No offense.

Allyson N. Your little-jab-of-a-comment is a bit messy in that it doesn’t directly reference who you’re aiming it at. If it was intended for the individual behind the post that you posted under, why would you begin with “amazing video, but”(something that is obviously only relevant to the owner/uploader of the content) before going on to condemn the actions of the viewer who simply watched/commented on the video? I mean, you commenced your post to throw a negative their way by complimenting them on the quality of the video. That isn’t theirs. [Side Note(s): -This, by your taste/standards, is an “amazing” video? (Where do you go with, say, “extraordinary”-just your standard mediocre phone recording of a live performance in a venue seemingly crafted to have nightmare acoustics without the addition of an out-of-time, off-key vocal track running beneath it?) -How were you so absolute that this person posted their commentary about the video while they were watching rather than the very plausible possibility that it was authored after the video had finished? -I don’t typicall-ever contemplate whether another user in the KZbin comments section will take offense to a reply or come close to actually taking offense to someone else’s words bc, well, I am an adult but do you not feel that an audience member is being quite offensive/disrespectful to the creator(s) performing their art for them upon the stage by watching their ‘live’ performance through a screen while humming along to a song they clearly aren’t very familiar with(at very least not their iteration of it) rather than truly being present, immersing oneself in the listening experience of work(s) that they invested however much of themselves into (re)creating? (If you’re going to be “that person” then at least ensure you post an accurate representation of the artist performance. Which this is not. He made a video intended to flaunt this incredible thing he was ‘present’ to ‘experience’ in person & butchered it with some delusional chasing of the notes within their angelic harmonies with an inebriated-type hum/mumbling. *I had to be flirting with the minute-mark before I realized that it wasn’t a group member embarrassingly off-key. SO many viewers would’ve stopped watching in disgust of their “studio only” singing talent. This is a disservice.* )]
