My dad played golf there many times, and won prizes too. We would drive there from BSB. 1970's through late 1980's. Mr. Sean J. Murray, the eclectic Irishman. RIP.

Almost forgot to mention, the local bank BIBD has moved to a newly constructed tall building (massive too) just beside the KB's river near the Monument, The V-Plaza Building. And their old office was renovated and turned into a mid-sized apartment and hotel (the pink colored building that was shown in this video just across the street) , plus, there's a new wet market in-front of the V-Plaza building intended to replace the old wet market in Jalan Pasar but it's still good and always have a night market every weekend down at the old wet market.

It's almost 10 years and there are only decent things has changed in Kuala Belait, there are some new buildings in the town, hotels, Water Front and Playground with exercise facilities, Kuala Belait's Conventional center, Municipal Theater in-front of Belait's Burger Kings, and for a bonus, a brand new shopping complex down the highway, Bowling center and movie theater in Seria. Oh and Chung Hwa Middle School has a new big building right on their front parking space (the parking space is visible as shown in this video)

I've been to this city one year ago, a beautiful city ... miss this city =)
