Considering the 02 Miami Hurricane team as one of the best - My Ohio State Buckeyes beating the 2002 Miami Hurricanes was absolutely unbelievable! Then, to see Joe Burrow transfer out of Ohio State and win a title at LSU was amazing!

ISU fan here. In April, 1997 I had a dream. Iowa State was playing Florida State in a football game. I remember the final score was 36-31, but I didn't know who won. I saw a play where our little guy ran up the middle, cut right and got to the end zone, but I didn't know if he scored. The next day, I drew the play out from my dream for a friend as we talked about it. I told him the run was less than half the length of the field and it was not Troy Davis. We both laughed because ISU would never have a chance to play them because ISU wasn't good enough to play in a bowl game. Well...lo and behold, Eddie Robinson Classic. My wife and I went to KC to watch the game because of my dream. We sat in the north endzone and watch it go to 24-7 at the half. A ton of people left, so I made my wife move with me so I could sit close to where I was sitting in my dream. You know the rest. Most bizarre thing I have ever been through, but totally happened.

2 Miami defenders laid a high hit on Krenzel at the same time late in that game and he walked it off no problem. OSU linebacker hits Miami's qb and my man couldn't stand and was falling over

1998 NFL Draft! 🏈 Round 1 1. 10:57 IND Peyton Manning, QB, Tennessee 2. 20:08 SD Ryan Leaf, QB, Washington State 3. 27:47 ARZ Andre Wadsworth, DE, Florida State 4. 33:26 OAK Charles Woodson, CB, Michigan 5. 47:48 CHI Curtis Enis, RB, Penn State 6. 53:09 STL Grant Winstrom, DE, Nebraska

Holding out after being drafted turned out to be a really, really bad idea for most players. Both Wadsworth and Enis did it and they quickly bombed out of the league. I know they both hurt their knees, but I figure skipping their first training camps didn't help with that. One good thing about today's football: slotted salaries for the draft.

Never for one moment did I think Polian was not going to go with Manning. Leaf was only a one year wonder. For those of you too young, if you want to know what I mean, I'll give you a recent example: Zach Wilson was also a one year wonder. Except that in his case, it wasn't even during a regular year. He did his playing against teams missing many key players due to Covid opt outs. Yet, Robert Saleh was completely fooled by it all. And the GM gave in to what his new coach wanted to help him succeed, and make the decision to hire him look good. The same thing happened in '98. And Randy Moss? I could not believe he lasted that long. I was flabbergasted. He was better than any receiver BY FAR. It wasn't even close. "A man against boys" absolutely described his superiority. His off the field issues were not that bad at all. Just minor juvenile issues. Everyone around around him said he was a good kid. And now just look at all the busts drafted ahead of him.

Want to her the saddest story ever? My brother had tickets to this game with his then fiancee. I was at home and saw the Music City Miracle happen and called my brother right after it happened expecting to hear madness in the background. It was dead silent in the background. I was like, "Aren't you at the game?!?!?" He said, "No, she was sick so we didn't go." I was like OMG!!!! Well, at least he's still married to her lol.

GMs/Scouts are much better now than then. Still not a perfect science, but I think (for the most part) things/trades , etc. (look at the 1999 draft trades. Omg) are better figured out now. Again, of course there are mistakes made, but it’s definitely evened out more. They’re not drafting kickers in the 1st rd anymore.

Ohio State Buckeyes broke the Miami Candy Canes and they never were the same after this game. It was one of those years where the Buckeyes were destined to win the national championship. Their defense was phenomenal, offense was decent and Craig Krenzel was a very good game manager.

makes you wonder if Pitt wouldve taken Chad Pennington (even though often injured) and then not have to draft Big Ben 4 years later..But Plaxico worked out..and had a overall solid career with rings.
