The wipers on the locomotive are made with Phosphor bronze wire from TICHY. .015 or .010. The wipers on the tender are made from SBS4DCC wipers. store.sbs4dcc.com/WheelandAxleWipers-5.aspx That were modified and mounted on single sided PC board.

The paint I used on this locomotive was Floquil. This one was painted about 9 years ago? I still have a small stash of Floquil. I have been trying others.

You can repair any part of a brass locomotive. Drivers can be the hardest part to find. But the good quality brass engines have great durability

I would love to get some brass steam engines but what scares me is if a part breaks and you cant find a new one you are out of luck and you have a shelf queen then so thats my take

With brass almost any part can be replaced. The drivers are the hardest to find. But there are sources out there

The Y-6b’s will pull anything. The Y-3’s are super smooth running but won’t pull as much. The “Class A” will pull a lot but not as much as the Y-6.

How did you connect the eccentric rod from the Rivarossi to the IHC crank pin on the center driver? The Rivarossi is slotted while the IHC has a half moon shape.

It’s had a lot of work done to it for sure! I have modified 2 of them, this one and one with an oil tender conversion numbered as #13 which ran in Baltimore. It still needs painting

These are not David Grover-Eddystone re builds. They are Rivarossi locomotives rebuilt by me Locofab by Jeff Dove. They have the full works. Faulhaber motor and NWSL gearboxes

I had to remove the backhead / boiler detail- motor cover inside the cab. The speaker and keep alive are on the cab floor the decoder is on the cab roof. I did shim the side play on the gearbox gears

PRR had 30 of them built in 1918 & 1919 and they lasted until the early 50’s

They are not Paragon 4. Two are Paragon 2 and one is a brass PFM. All have QSI-Titan decoders

Why sand dome changed? are the gem ones inaccurate? also I had no idea prr modded an E6 to oil

The Gem E6 uses the same boiler that they used for the H10. So it has the round sandbox from a H10 the sandbox on the E6 is smaller than a K4, its similar to a G5

@@ecpcharles it is a Bachmann K4 part sanded down, I have used the Bowser G5 on my other but they can be hard to find
