Anyone that stumbles up on this video wishing they had AC and poor like me. ECC Auto Shop out of Florida sells the complete kit except the bracket to mount the compressor to your engine for a 3rd of what Vintage Air cost. If you’re poor like me. You will wanna check them out. I bought mine in the summer of 2024 and it was $550.00. I will be buying another this year for my 4wd.

Thank you for the reply. In the meantime a friend borrowed me his genspring compressor which looked exactly the same but was HOLLOW and just about took me out when it folded with hardly any weight on it. The spring bounced around the shop, put a ding in the wifes charger, I haven't decided whether to tell her or not and practive the 5th if she asks. I look forward to watching all your stuff, Happy New year

Thanks! It's been quite a few years since I've done this, it proved to me this is the tool I can use, and how to use it. Some videos show just using the threaded head against the center of the valve, is that OK or should I use one of the adaptors? Awesome job
@greasyboykustoms18 күн бұрын
i would try to avoid letting the threaded part contact the valve directly. its not likely it would do any damage , but better safe than sorry. if you get in a situation where you must, just put a small piece of wood, plastic or sheet metal in between to avoid any damage.

Do you know the length of the brake hoses? I just ordered this kit for my 85 and would like to find some longer hoses before hand so I can be ready to install.
@greasyboykustomsАй бұрын
Somewhere between 18 and 20 inches based on a rough measurement I took after they were installed. Another 2 inches would give you plenty of slack.

anybody know if a quart will do a whole long bed truck fram ?or do i need a gallon?thanks
@greasyboykustoms18 күн бұрын
im pretty sure it will. the gallon took me almost a year to use up. you can reduce this down just like paint as well. up to 20%. that will help it spread easier and get you more usable product. so far, spraying it in a paint gun has been my favorite method. i used a cheap amazon spray gun and it worked well.

I like my manual valves. The failure was partially my fault for not maintaining my air system ,overall I think the electric set up is cleaner. I like it so far

What did you end up doing with that 2.7 ecoboost. Mine started smoking too and I'm thinking about saying srew it and 5.0 swap it
@greasyboykustomsАй бұрын
I ended up selling it for what I owed and bought a 94 f250 with the 7.3 idi then sold that for a 04 f250 with a 6.0 Way more reliable just not nearly as smooth down the highway haha. I do miss those heated seats . Seems like 2.7 engines are getting more hate everyday. Kinda glad it's gone

@greasyboykustomsАй бұрын
Sorry. That customer vehicle has been gone for a while. The wiring is basic. There is nothing special for this particular receiver. I used existing ignition power, battery power, and grounds already in the vehicle . If you meed something specific about the wiring let me know and I'll try my best to assist

Any advice on how to wire this up for it to work in the 66?
@Rust_Belt_Fab2 ай бұрын
I totally get your point on building a crossmember or buy a prefab one and installing it. The reason I would build it is the fact that I would keep all of the money involved at my shop. Instead of give the money for building it to another company and I only make money on the install of there crossmember. That being said. You probably have enough work waiting to be done on other customers projects. You just want to keep things moving. 👊🏻😎
