Such a beautiful song sung by Ryder. It somewhat reminds me of how my 7th grade year went. It went terrible because I had a mean teacher who always got mad at me for some sort of reason. I’m epileptic, so I would sometimes have trouble paying attention, cry from getting yelled at, get overwhelmed by her loud voice, and so on. She even made me leave the classroom and sit in the hallway by myself until I was able to pull myself together. It made me feel very scared to be left alone like that in the hallway because I was afraid that the fire alarm was going to go off while sitting on the floor in the hallway (yes, I have a fear of fire alarms going off, and I’m not super embarrassed to admit it). But I also felt relieved to be alone because I would be away from her and all of the yelling. I didn’t even know if I did anything wrong or not to set her off. During fire drills, due to my condition, if I took off my sunglasses for five seconds, she would angrily tell me to put them back on. I was always the main target in her class. Now that I’ve heard this song, it allows me to let out all the emotions I felt when I had her in both 7th and 9th grade. My second year of 9th grade, I was lucky enough to be switched into the class with special needs students, so I was like “freedom at last”. In the special class, I learned all sorts of new things with a more friendly and understanding teacher, along with a teacher’s aide. I had to do a lot of therapy in school, such as physical/occupational therapy, speech therapy, and also weekly counseling. Now that I’m 25, I’ve been trying to find a job that won’t stress the living life out of me, but no success so far. The last time I went on a job interview was to be a teacher’s assistant at a school I went to when I was in Pre-K. The interview went perfectly fine, but when I got the call, the person said that the positions were full. They were the only people who called me back. Every other job interview I went on, either nobody called me back or decided not to hire me, making me feel like a complete failure.
