Thanks Dave! Can you show us how to work with unions, specifically the stainless variety with the tiny gasket in a new video?

I have passed this request off to Dave and he will do his best to get a video for you!

Thank you for the view and comment, I'm sorry, with our line of products we do not have stainless fittings at all. Our true unions are galv or Sched 80 pvc. The galv , of course are tapered for a water tight fit and the pvc have an o ring recessed in the molding for a water tight seal. I have not worked with a stainless type to give any guidance.

When they changed the pump house filter it let tons of rust particles (and fishing line) into our system and I had to go through the whole course 240+ heads and I had flush them out 2 or 3 at a time, in the middle of winter. That's a lot of foot valves.

blue39503, I understand your comment, my area is more with Agricultural . All I can say is that a contractor should be called in to adjust the spray patterns to prevent overspray on sidewalks and driveways. All the sprinklers should be in a good working order and I believe the system should be operating at 45psi max. Any more than that the water droplets will burst into a mist and float away, causing water to build up on the side walks etc. I hope this answer some of your question.

Good to see more new content. I inherited the irrigation system position quite a few years when we had a Toro tube line system. In '06 it was converted to a RainBird electrical system. And a smaller rainbird system at the clubhouse. I had to learn it all on the fly, with lots of trial and error with some moments that were nerve racking and others quite hilarious. whether it was 20 degrees or 110 degrees. Best of luck as you venture forth.

I see so much water wasted just going down the street and seeing overshooting and misdirected lawn sprinklers and a river running down the edge of the road. Wouldn't spinner heads in the middle of the yard be more effective?

It hasn't rained in 3 weeks; there's a 6" pipe leak I must attend to and tomorrow begins aerification week. Good times.

Yikes! Sounds like a rough week. No rain in 3 weeks? Where abouts are you, it won't stop raining here in Ontario!

The Mississippi Gulf Coast. Normally it rains so much that wet rough and drainage have priority. But the last two summers gave us a dry spell with 100 degree (f) heat index weather. I had to install a lakefill valve.

Those RB flat screw drivers are too weak to remove rotors
@blue3950311 ай бұрын
I use a regular Stanley screwdriver and push the rotor to relieve pressure. The greens head rings can be sharp though.

I asked the Boss man to order an extra case of adjustable rotors so when we lay a mess of sod I can water it without dragging sprinklers about or overwatering the fairway. They also come in handy on tee boxes that are in close proximity to someone's private yard. The downside of being an irrigation tech is that you don't just meet folks every day that share one's enthusiastic zeal about foot valves, solenoids, valve boxes and thrust blocks. From the compression system milking machine timers to smartphone watering, hand watering with wetting agents and electrical control box station troubleshooting I find myself in a giddy state of excitement when explaining it to folks.

The liquid portion is usually sent to a separate pit than spread or it can go back main pit for agitation or both.

@tertan69 This particular farm has 3% to 6% solids, Fan Separators have different screen & models to deal with higher solid content.

what is the percent solids you are running through the unit

@VandenBusscheIrrigation14 жыл бұрын
@tertan69, this particular Fan Separator can process about 60 U.S. gpm of Slurry. The flow rate is also dependent on how dry you want the solid portion.
