As a parent, if you have a problem with playing time... just ask the coach, "what are some key weaknesses my kid needs to work on?" Making your kid better is more important than minutes. Minutes will come as progression is shown.

I have a program idea but won't be able to execute until I retire from the military and move back to Lakeland, and my son will be playing... hmm maybe 6-7 years from now.

I have a son that I want to put through basketball, but it is difficult to find good resources other than like Kelly Rec/Simpson Park/YMCA. It feels like there is no online presence for Basketball, or it isn't managed properly here in Polk County... other than you all here, I don't know of any other community parents or fans for local basketball. I can search Orlando/Tampa and get easy results for Basketball clinics, skills camps, travel teams, or other leagues. The focus just isn't here, or it dropped off after Covid and needs to be picked back up.

Is there much of an AAU scene in Polk County? How would you rank Youth Basketball in areas of Orlando or Tampa compared to Lakeland? Don't know where I will end up living for my kid to attend a good program for example.
