@Vortoxium check out this level by this guy. Its like pre Kaizo. I think its a super awesome level. I just played through the first level ( using save states ) because I'm just in the learning phase of getting through the level. I also didn't record the level as I expected to die a lot. After I get more skilled at the level I'll make a video of this one. Meanwhile you can check it out. I think you'll have fun playing it. There are a lot of wall jumping move sets I have never done before, so it will be fun to try to work through this. Still not sure if I'll be able to get all stars. For me anyhow I will say this is the hardes Mario 64 level I've ever played. But even saying that, I still think it is very fun. I like a good challenge and this is definently that! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZOvZZKCZ9CAe5o
@VortoxiumАй бұрын
I already know this level actually! Since it was too hard for me I put it on a list for levels to play at another point in time though. I might still record it at some point, but I don't think it's likely
@GenzaijhАй бұрын
@@Vortoxium That's cool you know about it already. Agree it's crazy difficult. It's the hardest level of any Mario game I've ever played thus far. I actually saw this video a while back but I didn't try to play it yet also because of the difficulty. The last two nights I've been attending to beat it. I have been using savestates because since I have never attempted anything like this I'm trying to learn how to get through the difficult sections. I will reduce use of them maybe even try without it once I get better. Thursday night I collected the first star and Friday night I collected the second star. I'm sure the most difficult star to collect will be the 8 Red coin star. But I also think the second star which I have collected is the second hardest star. Especially the section at 2:29 and 2:40. Both of these challenges I have never done before, mostly because I have never had a level built this way so you can't test something you have never played. The 1st section I had quite a bit of trouble getting the timing of the jumps and the control of the stick. But I landed it. The second I was really intimidated by it. But I just kept working the problem surprising I landed the jump faster than in the video. Also I gave up trying to move my camera angle the same as his. At 2:40 he taps the camera angle twice, I tried so many times I failed. So instead I just tapped the camera angle one time then kept the angle the same. I was reminded by a conversation I had with a gamer who is way better than I named "amsix" if that's not the right name I'll look it up again and tell you. I saw him playing a Kaizo level and asked him you can't even see Mario how do you know when to jump? He just said, with experience I just learned the timing so I don't even need to see Mario I can just do it. So I just thought ok, even if I can't see Mario hit the wall I can just try the timing of the jumps to hit the wall at the right time, at least I know it's possible to do it blindly. Note, it's not totally blind but there is a second or two you don't know exactly when you'll hit the wall. Ok so I tried it at the semi awkward angle. After a few tries, ok more like 30 or 40 I landed the jump and caught the ledge grab. Each time I played that section I got better and better. The last step where you do a back flip and ledge grab is easy for me just have to make sure the joy stick angle is dead center so you don't run off or flip off the edge. Last night I actually tried to collect ( what I call is the first red coin ) the one at the bottom of the pillars where you have to do a complete circle to collect it. I tried for like 30 / 40 minutes. No luck. I could collect the red coin but died right after that. One time I was able to collect the red coin and still wall jump off the furthest pillar but died immediately afterwards. I also just tried to see if I could make a full circle, na couldn't make it. But I was showing progress. Then I gave up on that and just tried to land on top of the furthest platform more consistently. Which I did. That's when I decided to turn left to try for the 2nd star. I really wanted to try that section because I be never played something like that before. I think except for the 8 Red coin star the other stars should be easier. But I'll have to review his video and see. I don't think this will be my next Thursday's video as I don't think I'll be ready to record by then. So I'll have to pick something else. No clue what I'll record yet. But I lll have to pick something soon. Monday to Thursday go by really fast and I like to try to have something recorded at least a few days before release. Well the level again is the hardest level I've ever played so far but I'm having a lot of fun playing it. Kiddos to Scott the creator of the level. Mad Respect.

@@Vortoxium I know the feeling. I am also making MB64 levels like you. Some of my videos are an hour long because I'll also record a blind play through. My latest video I didn't is the second half of one level. I had the 8 Red coin star and 100 coin star to get. Actually I died many times more than I should because of getting hit by bully, accidently doing a back flip, or getting hit by fire. I didn't want to repeat the same section over and over. So I restarted that section many times. It's not hard but just wanted to get the perfect run. Did you do a lot of runs through the level before uploading this clip? I'd say the time you did everything is a very good time. Also you kind of need to know where everything is to pull it off like this. But like I said good show.
@GenzaijhАй бұрын
@@Vortoxium I may give this level a try too. Just kind of depends what I want to do around the time I plan on making videos. I only pump out about one video a week. Just a hobby not my day job. Lol
@VortoxiumАй бұрын
I play levels at least once before I record them, mainly to find out if the quality of the level is high enough to be recorded and to also learn where the stars and red coins are located. I don't usually do more than one run on a level beforehand though. Also yeah the schedule I currently have for these videos is pretty tiring honestly, I upload three MB64 videos per day and it honestly has burnt me out a lot already. I will probably reduce it to two MB64 videos per day in the future if I can't keep up with this anymore.
@GenzaijhАй бұрын
@@Vortoxium Damn! 3 a day / 2 a day is a hell of a lot. Man I don't blame you getting burned out. Funny we play it for fun but when you feel presure to constantly put videos out it takes away the fun. Shoot I only get about one video a week and that feels like a lot for me. Ironically I play other stuff in-between the MB64 levels. Like Switch games. But I'm not uploading that game play, for one I don't know how. But it's also ok, just play for fun too you know. Hey ya and if you feel like you need a break take it. Don't want to see you get burned out. Besides you know I don't think your subscribers will be watching that many videos a day. And people also get distracted watching other videos or just doing real life stuff. I subscribe to some really cool channels but I don't always get back to watching their content even though I know they are putting out really great content. Hey, don't know if you know this channel, you probably do it's called "I can Beat Videogames" the guy mostly focuses on NES tittles, his channel is literally the best gaming channel I've seen out there. Like once a week or even less than that he puts out one video of how to beat a game, he goes through the entire history of making the game, the culture at the time fo the game release, it's ranking of popularity, what made the game so great, teaches you how to beat it, and all the tips, tricks, and secret cheats. It's like an encyclopedia of gaming history. I just really love his content. I mention this not to say you should follow hai model just one gamer to another saying he really knows his stuff and does an amazing job making those videos. You know when you need a break it's pretty relaxing to just go and check his stuff out. And if you already knew about him, that's cool too.
