I just discovered this album (youtube recs from Colm McGuinness' cover of Siuil a Run) and. Holy shit. When the Amazing Devil came out with The Horror and the Wild, it rewrote my brain and for the life of me I could NOT find anything like it. Every recommendation gave more acoustic folk than rock (I like the Oh Hellos, don't get me wrong, but wrong genre). Last week I started dreaming nigh-constantly of driving my motorbike a coniferous temperate forest. Usually I do dream of the road - every highway I've ever ridden - but a /week/ of Highway 16 from Prince George to Tete Jaunce Cache, and then down the Yellowhead to Kamloops? Really? It's November, I couldn't figure out what that was about. And then browsing the recs for Colm, KZbin threw me on Baobhan Sidhe and I was like "hey! I know that from October Daye!" and gave it a listen, which brought me to this, and now I'm marathoning the album. Holy shit. I need the vinyl STAT. This is going in one of my favourite albums list and since that list is 90% Nightwish, that's a HARD bar to clear, and you've done it. If y'all do a tour outside of America, come to Vancouver Canada. I'd love you for you guys to see our forests, they're a perfect match for this album.

Oh you guys have just knocked this one out of the ATMOSPHERE! The music, the lyrics and how it all weaves into the story of the video UGH, its just so perfect! And speaking of the video, the editing, the costumery, and the elaborate scene setting! I cannot believe how amazing the production value of this is! I'm absolutely stunned! You guys are hands down one of the best bands out there! I hope we get to see more music videos like this from Syr, but in the meantime I'll be playing this (and the rest of your music) on loop!

Saw you at the Radford Highlander Festival in 2017 when I was a grad student at Virginia Tech. My whole family fell in love with the stories and sounds of your music. My son wasn’t even a year old at the time. He’s grown up knowing your songs by heart. In 2022 we made the 3 hour drive back down to Radford to see you again. It was worth the trip. We got to speak and hang out with Kyle (and dad) and see you perform three times that day. We hope to see you again sometime soon. This song is great, your music is great. Please keep making more! The world needs these stories and this music. The world needs the old tales told in a new fashion and you guys nail that.

I wear a stag antler necklace made by Kyle with runes inscribed upon it. It hasn't left my neck for a long time. I have seen them in concert 4 times and had the pleasure to shoot photo of them 2 times, including most recently at the Loon Mountain Highland Games in NH. A beautiful band with epic and hauntingly amazing music.
