I'm gonna need to watch multiple times and take notes. Sounds very complicated and very expensive.

This video is awesome!! Very detailed that gives me confidence to diy my yard. Quick question: im from Hawaii and it's a tropical weather and in our area it barely rains maybe in a 3-5 time a year. Is ot necessary to make a drainage?

The class I just took on turf said never ever use crushed granite because its more likely to create bubbles in winter seasons. Also in the class road base was said to drain much better than crushed granite.

Crushed/decomposed granite also doesn't exist in my state nor anywhere I can find. I literally called industrial quarries at one point and they were like what's that.

Mixture of crushed rock and decomposed granite sounds like a cost effective method for the sub base.

I have a large pile of Caleche from a pool install (in Texas) and hoped a putting green would be an ideal way to get rid of it. Would well packed (in 2-3 inch layers) Caleche make an acceptable base if topped with 3-4 inches of decomposed granite? I would appreciate any thoughts on this. Note that this green is on a slope so I would have about 3 feet of sub base on the low side to raise it to a flat surface.

How do you go about laying the turf when you have big tree roots hanging out. I have 20-40 foot trees with major roots.

Sooo using a spreader for spreading is an example of repurposing? Not trying to be insulting or sound ignorant.....I must be missing something if it could kindly be pointed out
@Purchasegreen2 жыл бұрын
Typically these are used for spreading fertilizer on natural grass. We repurpose it to spread infill on artificial grass. Technically you are correct, it still is used to spread material...just a a different type than originally intended.

I have left over DG , can I just use that as the base? It’s for a really small area 12 x 14 but will cut it in a triangular shape and one of the corners there’s a 1/4 circle (more or less planter) so there will be a lot left over. I could use a small piece of the turf but I don’t want seams. I don’t think I can find a small amount of road base for sale. Also if I decide to do a bigger section in the future , will the big bags of sand and gravel work as the base? Home Depot also sells small bags of paver base (there’s 2, one is a sand mix and the other is more crush rocks with sand) would those work ? I’m trying to not buy a huge amount sold by the scoop or 1/2 a scoop. It’s too much work carrying and unloading lol

Good day, may I ask what if installing artificial turf on a slope, 1 meter slope over 25 meter span, if I put infill - fine sand on top of the turf will the sand not run off during heavy rains? if so, what is the solution to installing turf on slopes? thank you for the great videos
