Because you don't have a device - a smart bulb or whatever - configured to network off the extender. To connect any device to the extender, treat the extender wifi network as a separate network from the router.

If your router doesn't have a WPS button, it's possible that it won't be compatible with the extender (but contact Netgear support to confirm this)

The only way to know exactly how much coolant to add is to completely vacuum out the system, then weigh in the correct amount based on the specs for your system. Otherwise, if you are confident (and you should be VERY confident) that the system is a little bit low, you can add a small amount of coolant to "top it off". This isn't ideal, however, as you are using guesswork to add refrigerant, and adding too much can damage your system. You would need a gauge set, R410A refrigerant, and a digital scale to add refrigerant/coolant.

As long as it's negative, you have a steady vacuum so you're good. If the vacuum holds for at least an hour, you can go ahead and add refrigerant.

Actually, the device light won't come on until a smart device (such as a smart bulb) is connected to the extender's wifi network.

Sorry if I'm not understanding your question - so let me just say: I have ONLY added refrigerant (either into a completely vacuumed system or just topping off when I knew the system was low) via the low side port. This port has a Schrader valve, so the only valve(s) that need to be opened or closed are actually located on the gauge set. Check the 1:00 minute mark --

Thank you very much for your speedy response. Sorry if I wrote the question somewhat unclear. So…my mini split has 4 zones and I have two zones connected. Each zone has a line set connected to it. At the top of the manifold, where all four zones appear, are two king valves. One is for the low pressure, a vapour line, and the other for the high-pressure liquid line. The king valves are opened first, and that allows the refrigerant stored in the compressor from the factory , to flow into the manifold where it is waiting to pass through the individual zone service valves of each line set. So, after the line set is vacuumed and proven tight, the service valves are opened for that zone and the refrigerant flows from the manifold and into the line set. Both line sets were done this way originally. A leak has since developed and most of the refrigerant escaped. I will evacuate all of the remaining refrigerant from the entire system, including the compressor. (all valves, including the king valves will be opened for this process… as such, all of the 410 A, will be removed into a separate cylinder). Once the system is empty, I will repair the leak and do a pressure test to confirm it’s tight. Then a vacuum test to standards and the system is then ready for fresh , R410A refrigerant to be added. My question is… Do I keep the king valves open for all of the processes, nitrogen pressure test, vacuum test, and finally adding the factory charge of 6 pounds of 410 a refrigerant? Or, do I close the king valves after the first step of 410A evacuation and do all of the above testing for tightness…then add the 6 pounds of 410A to the line sets. Followed by opening the king valves and the 410A would then flow into the compressor. (Not sure the two line sets have space enough to hold 6 lbs of refrigerant). I hope that made it clearer, albeit long winded explanation. Thanks again for the quick reply earlier. Cheers.

TBH this may be above my "pay grade". You should either get in touch with the manufacturer of your system, or find a local HVAC pro who specializes in mini-splits (admittedly they are somewhat hard to find). Wish I could be more helpful but this is beyond my scope, sorry!
