When I saw you out there in the mud I thought you was out in the south somewhere but then I saw the trees and was like that looks like WA. lol But just wanted to mention there's a car care company called Optimum Polymer Technologies (OPT) and they have a tire coating called "Tire Protection & Coating" that came out about 4 years ago. I'm pretty sure this stuff is whitelabeled from them cause we weren't seeing this stuff before their product. Anyway, I tried it on my daily and prep was a lot but it lasted a good while. You gotta scrub them puppies a few times with something like Super Clean until all the browning is gone and then you can apply the coating. Much easier on street tires. Definitely a nightmare on mud tires. When the coating on my tires was about done I think I ended up using mineral spirits to get the remaining coating completely off.
@ownyourrecreation28 күн бұрын
@@rockhills I absolutely appreciate the feedback 💯and yes I’m on WA haha I definitely think this product works for some but way too much prep work for an off-road vehicle that’s gonna tear that coating right off the tires with all the elements it goes through.

I just applied permashine today on my 2014 lexus es350. I used mothers back to black tire cleaner 3x's then pressurewashed the shit out of the tires so no cleaning agent was left behind to weaken the bond. They looked new, got ALL the brown out of the tires so all the pores would accept the product properly. Layed 1 thin coat and 20 minutes later added the 2nd thin coat. I am remaining hopeful, but my brother prep is everything! I also waited 3hrs before driving and also it does say do not get wet for at least 24hrs. I could see the brown still on your tire even in the not so good lighting in your video. PREP, PREP, PREP! Thanks for the video of how to not apply permashine.

Did you watch the video or just look at it??? I drive an off-road vehicle with 33” mud terrain tires that is clearly not a pavement princess. I started at the end of the video that this product is not meant for my application. I’m not going to spend 17 days prepping my tires just to have rocks, trees, ditches, snow/ice, mud, etc, stop it off after one off-road run. You mentioned having the single hole injectors versus the four and I think the other one is 12 but I saw a couple videos on how they test all the different ones and they found that the Four Hole was better for low end torque an is better than the single hole. Then the 12 hole injector would be better for like highway miles anywhere around 3000 RPM range and is better than the single hole injector.

You've got extra fuckery going on with your setup (*towing package, perhaps?). I say that because I have a 2002 Laredo (4.0L, 4x4) that is basically what this radiator seems to have been designed for, with the trans lines running into the radiator, and only the single electric fan in the shroud, with no clutch fan. I just bought and installed a radiator similar to this, only I believe it's a 2 row, and other than the bastards not sending me all the fittings with it that should've come, I didn't encounter too many issues.

I’m wondering what the fitment looks like with a 4.7??? Keep me posted!!!
@robertgolden10804 ай бұрын
@@ownyourrecreation update. The 4.7 radiator install went very well actually. It was the closest plug and play aftermarket radiator install. First the aftermarket tank size was pretty much the same as the OEM. My WJ has the full towing package that includes an additional trans cooler and power steering cooler. Had to take the hardware out of the brackets to give some moving around room. I started this project because my A/C went out so I replaced everything including the evaporator and condenser. So I’m in it that far might as well do the entire cooling system as well. Guys not going to lie it’s a pain in the ass and not for the timid. The whole project took me 2 weeks. Back to the radiator. If you have the additional trans cooler. Take the hard lines off it then reinstall after the radiator and the fan shroud are reinstalled. I took my wrench to the grinder god to make it fit the cooler lines. so much easier that way. Take note of how close the radiator tank is to the steering gear box. The clearance is very close to the steering gear box. I took an angle grinder with a flapper whee and ground down about a 1/8 inch at the closest point to the steering gear bow . I did relief cuts to the upper radiator support . Take your time and remember the devil is in the details. Take the hard right over the easy wrong, because if you take your WJ off-road , remember it’s a uni-body. Things are going to flex and chafing will be a problem. You don’t want to be 20 miles into a trail with a hole in your radiator. Just trying to help out the WJ community. Keep up the good work on your channel.

What thermostat temp do you run? I run a high flow pump thermostat housing and thermostat (180°) which I find keeps me right about 200°. Everything is stock rn but I'm gonna do a work rig so she's go be put to the test. I was thinking with the same high flow set up but a 190°(stock) thermostat and the three core. Both setups would work the same I believe, which is what I want, but for a rig that's gonna idle a lot I'd like for a bit higher volume of coolant overall if that makes sense
@ownyourrecreation6 ай бұрын
I’m running a 205 thermostat with the new 3 row (core) radiator. I found that the stock 195 thermostat was not allowing the engine to get to operating temp (210) as the stock thermostat would open prematurely. This caused the engine to run too cold and would trigger a check engine light after running at low temps for too long.
@williammontano78546 ай бұрын
@@ownyourrecreation hell yeah okay I can get with that, and that makes sense. I have a stock 2000 2wd Laredo and a lot of the information I find is for 4x4 units or overland units not much for these little commuter grand Cherokees. I also forgot to mention I run a coolant additive as well, and I added a clutch fan inline with the e-fan that works sometimes and sometimes doesn't it works when I turn the AC on tho so I know its just the relay. So with a high flow cooling system, clutch fan, e-fan and a 3 core with a 205° is where I'm looking to start bet. I live in southern Nevada it gets hotter then the devil's dick down here, I idle for long periods of time due to work and last summer it was running 215/220 the whole season while I know that's okay I'd like to make this engine last and try to keep it running about 205/210. Thanks for the information I appreciate it, I'm on a quest to make a absolute unit of a Cherokee, it ain't gonna pull 10s on the 1/4 or rock climb per say but im tryinna make it bullet proof
