I wanted to see if you ordered anything from the half price sale to see if what happened to me, happened to you. I was sent old product. One of the three large size serums, I purchased, and the only one that had a manufacturing date on it, was the B5 which was 18 months old! Apparently, it has a max shelf life of 24 months. (i’ll be lucky to finish it before it expires.) 🤬I ordered three large serums from timeless during the sale and boy, has the company changed, and sadly, not in a good way. First, they are no longer putting manufacturing dates on their product boxes, only lot codes that would require you to call in and check what the manufacturing date for that lot code is (and really, how many people are going to do that?) You can’t check their lot codes online like you can with major cosmetic companies. The excuse she gave for no longer printing it on the boxes. “was to streamline processes” which is corporate speak for absolutely nothing Because they’re still printing the lot codes, so how much more effort would it be to print the manufacturing date, unless they’re selling old product and they don’t want people to know? What was more disturbing is the one box that DID have a manufacturing code, (because it’s an older product that was made before they stopped printing, the manufacturing dates, was manufactured 18 MONTHS ago! I told her this was unacceptable, and that they are known for making fresh products “in small batches” so I’d like to exchange for sending it was made fresh or at least in the last three or four months. I spoke on the phone to the same girl I always speak to there, who said she would speak to the fulfillment team about getting me a newer product. She then emailed me and told me that they had no newer product (so all their B5 stock is 18 months old?!!) so instead of giving me a chance for them to make some fresh, she refunded my money which was really upsetting, considering I Purchased, this big bottle during the half price sale so this product will be expiring in six months (assuming it is good for the full 24 months) and then I would have to buy the product at full price again - although I will never be buying big bottles again after this as it does seem that they don’t make the large bottles as often as they do the small ones, at least not in the B5. The worst part is that they apparently have a ton of the 18 month old B5 serum left that they plan on selling to customers. She said “we have to get rid of our old stock.” She didn’t say this, but it does seem like they use the big sales to unload old stock. (several other bigger companies also did this during the Black Friday sales.) If I had known I was going to be getting 18 month old product, I would’ve bought the smaller bottle because then the shorter shelflife wouldn’t have been such a big deal as I would’ve been able to finish it in time.. I’m frankly shocked they would sell something that old to customers. That goes against everything I thought the company was about, but the more I talked to the phone rep (and it’s a very small company where everyone knows everyone), I got the impression that these changes are because of the company’s growth. The girl talked about how they had grown and that’s why they needed to streamline processes and no longer less the manufacturing date on the box. As someone who worked in corporate America In corporate communications, I know a load of corporate crap when I hear it. So it seems that as they have grown larger, they are no longer sticking to The standards they were known for.. Maybe they don’t make The large bottles as frequently. I don’t know, but it looks like I’m going be having to switch companies. I’ve never heard of any cosmetics company, not putting a manufacturing or best by date on their products; The large companies put a lot code that you can go online and check the to get the manufacturing date but Timeless doesn’t do. Considering they sent me an 18 month old bottle of serum and are now choosing not to print the manufacturing date next to the lot code, it would seem that they are planning on diverging from selling their fresh made products The person I spoke to on the phone who told me all this, is the same person. I spoke to a few months prior who said that it’s always preferable to purchase directly from timeless versus their authorized reseller on Amazon because when you purchase from them, you know you’re getting fresh product. I reminded her of that conversation when we spoke. She really couldn’t say much considering they had just sent me 18 month old product. Then I got the email that I would not be getting a replacement, because the first woman center didn’t have it so they were refunding my money. So incredibly disappointed in this company. I think I will be switching over to Geek & Gorgeous Who makes their products and such small fresh batches that they often sell out until the new batch has come in. I’m just quite disappointed in this company who I loved, but it seems all companies change as they get bigger. I would not be at all surprised if the company is getting ready to be acquired by a larger company. Otherwise, I can’t imagine them, abandoning the principles they have been known for. Did any of the boxes you got, have the manufacturing date on them? We’re any of them old like mine?

Omg that is so disappointing! I just picked up my order today. I ordered 2 big bottles. One is the Q10 and Matrixyl 3000. The Q10 has a good expiry date. It was just made in April. The 3000 is almost a year old. The product is suppose to be good for 24 months so it will be fine for me. I will use it up. I have a vague memory of this happening with B5 before. Maybe it is less popular therefore made less often. 🤷‍♀️. In any regard it is very maddening to buy a new product and spend alot of money to have it expire so quickly! I will check out the Geek and Gorgeous too. I am in Canada so sometimes smaller companies won’t ship or it’s too expensive. I loved the ordinary products and loved it was a Canadian company but it was just bought by Estée Lauder. 😩 I’m afraid it will change now too.!!

@@wendybalfour1675 oh yes, anytime, a company is acquired, the larger company changes the ingredients. I hate when that happens. I probably won’t buy anything else from timeless other than their vitamin C serum. I can imagine the shipping costs can get expensive going to Canada depending on the company. I spent a lot for this NIOD mist made my Deciem (who also owned The Ordinary) and was not that impressed with it. Now that I know that Estee Lauder owns them, I won’t purchase again. I try to purchase from companies that are cruelty, free and Estee Lauder definitely is not.

Hello, Do you store all your Timeless serums in the fridge? Obviously it’s important for the Vit C to keep it from oxidizing. Mine lasted 8 mos without oxidizing until I could use it all up. I was so impressed. I buy the 1.7 oz in Vit C (like i think you got?) and 1 oz in others but am considering switching to the 4 oz for the Matrixyl Synthe 6 & CoQ10. The bottles look huge so I’m not sure if they wil fit easily into the sides of my fridge without taking up a ton of space needed to food. Trying to stock up during their 50% off birthday sale this week. Would love to hear if the big bottles fit easily in your fridge. Thanks!

Hello! I usually only store my vit c in the fridge. I put the others in a drawer in the bathroom. Not the main drawer but one that is used for storing extra towels. Because the bottles are large it is probably a good idea to keep them in the fridge. The bottles should fit in the door of the fridge. They are not bigger than jar of olives or sandwich pickles. Thank you for alerting on the 50% off sale!! Usually I get an email when there is a sale but didn’t see it this time. This is an excellent sale to grab a few things!!

@@wendybalfour1675 my pleasure. Thank you for being the only one to post a video of these products with a large size. We have one of those French door refrigerators with very small side pockets. I was shocked when I got the measurements of the large bottle. I’m really taking a chance it will fit in the fridge. Do you find them heavy to lift? I couldn’t believe the large size of the large dropper dispenser bottle; it was like the whole size of your hand or bigger. ( I’ve only ever purchased the small bottles so the dropper dispenser really showed how big the big bottles are.) Have you tried the Matrixyl Synthe 6? I tried it once and wasn’t super impressed. It left a bit of a soapy film on my face. I noticed you got that B5 hydration and was curious how you work it into your routine because timeless told me it should go last, but that it should be applied on top of a wet face. Considering I apply to serums before it (thickest goes on first), by the time I get to the B5, my skin is no longer wet and they’ve advised me not to spritz it again or risk affecting the vitamin C absorption so I can’t quite figure out how to apply it to damp skin given those restrictions. Any advice?

The science behind hair care is so interesting and I literally cringe inside when I hear of people using soap on their hair. For some people, it works, but in the long run can do a lot of damage.

To make a perfect candle is tricky. The wick is very important. I found that at first my wick was way too small and it just burned like a tunnel….but I was really surprised that I could actually make a candle and it wasn’t too hard. Perfecting it is definitely much harder.

Hello Syeda, for the base mix 1/2 tsp beeswax, 1tsp of oil (jojoba, sweet almond, coconut, castor oil, olive oil will all work, you choose) 1/2tsp Shea butter. Melt it in the microwave in 10 second intervals until melted. Add I drop of vitamin E oil (optional) and 2 tsp of the pigment. Mix it up and put it in a tube or container.

Hello again Fielding! It was a trying time. The microwave broke in the middle of the recording and my scale was acting up. The recipe is the amended version. The tricky part is most certainly getting the product in the tube and having a scale that will measure under a gram. It seems to be tricky to find a quality one. The original recipe link is a former youtuber that seems to be inactive now. They also did a good job explaining the process if you want to check it out!

Interesting recipe for the bronzer. How would you suggest one get the right color/tone? I have a slight tan and my skin has a peachy undertone. I would love to see you do a BLUSH STICK recipe, using shea butter, maybe cocoa butter, coco oil, colorant, etc. I use Cocoacare 100% cocoa butter that comes in a 28g/1 oz push-up stick that I would love to use for a blush stick container so I'm saving mine for this purpose. Again, I'd prefer a "beetroot" similar color but perhaps you could do 2 or 3 different shades. Just giving you some ideas for more videos!:) Will be checking out your other videos too. Thanks!

Thank you for your interest, subscription and encouragement. I just ordered larger push up sticks so I could do some experimenting. I also wanted to try eye shadow crayons. I also just got some surfactants to try making a shampoo bar. I tried once before but it really turned out to be soap…but hey yay I made soap. For the pigment in this I did a bit of trial and error to get mine the color I wanted. I would start with arrowroot powder and coco powder. Then you can add ground nutmeg or cinnamon, turmeric. Just dig around your kitchen! Careful with cinnamon. It can sometimes be an irritant. The mica I used had a nice pinky peach tone so that worked for me. Truly it is something to play around with. I wiped the mixture on my arm a bunch of times to see if it matched.

Hi Wendy ,so happy to come across your channel as I've been looking for some SIMPLE recipes for cream makeup using basic ingredients that don't break the bank! I have a few comments and questions. Is beeswax necessary in the recipe? If so, how much would one use from a block of beeswax??? Next, I like your recommendation of the TKB company and have been looking at their website. I would like to see you do a shea lipstick with a "beetroot" color, whether you use actual beetroot or micas. There are so many pink/red micas that I would not know what to choose to get a beetroot color. I've read that beetroot has to be ground really fine to mix in. Perhaps if you feel like it, you could try using beetroot AND also use/mention what colors of mica would work. It would be greatly appreciated! Last question on the lipstick: Can you use regular lipstick tubes as opposed to the balm-type tubes? I'm going to subscribe and also comment on your cream bronzer for another beauty idea. Please keep posting!!!!! All the best!!!

Good day Fielding! Thank you for your message! Beeswax is not necessary but it is in most recipes. I think it makes it a little bit firmer for the lip balm tube. You can put it in a pot / little container and use a brush or your finger to put on and omit the beeswax. I think with the block I would just flake off bits until I had about a teaspoon. The tricky part was getting the right ratio of oils and butters to colourant. As I say in the video more pigment makes it stay on longer but also makes it a bit drier and too much oil and butter and it comes off more easy. I have never tried using this recipe for lipstick tubes. I have seen other KZbin videos making lipstick with the regular tubes and they use a mould. FYI: I have a beetroot powder lip and cheek stain coming up next! I am currently editing the video and hope to have it up soon. I am hoping when the renovations are finished at my house I will have a designated space to create and edit my videos. I never thought moving and settling into a new place would take so long!! Thank you for your encouragement!

Hello, thank you for bringing this to my attention. There are companies that sell ethically sourced mica that does not involve child labour. TKB is a company that only sells ethically sourced mica. I wish that children were protected from working in mines. I also wish that laws could be enforced to make it illegal and that countries provided welfare and subsidies for the poor. Hello, my apologies I missed your message! In the video I added the fragrance right after the wax and oil melted. I noticed the fragrance did not last long. Heat is not great for essential oils. The next time I made the candles I added the fragrance after I poured the candle in the container. The fragrance lasted better this way. Also I mentioned in another post the tricky part about making candles is the wick. When I made my candles a second time I used a thick wick. The first time I made them the wick was a bit small and then it burns like a tunnel. I thicker wick or twisting two together really made a difference for my candles. They burned more evenly!

Yes. I think it has a hot throw! Beeswax burns at a higher temperature then soy and supposedly throws scent better as well. I used a larger diameter wick (twisted 2 together) and more essential oils the next time I made these. The tricky part about making your own candles is the wick. The first time I made them the wick was a bit small and it burned like a tunnel in the middle of the candle. With a bigger wick or putting two wicks really made a difference!
