(1) hostel mess are for masses, do not look for specialized treatment there (2) foods are not about "pyaz, tamatarrrr jeera bhoon dalo" for lauki, for meat, for alu, for tori or anything on this planet, get used to different tempering (chhaunk) (3) learn local language, hindi is not special, it's just another language in this country

Basically there are 7 messes in total (excluding opal(girls hostel) messes) 1. Mega mess 1 First floor(north indian) 2. Mega mess 1 ground floor(south indian) 3.Mega mess 2 first floor (North indian) 4.Mega mess 2 ground floor(south indian) 5.sabari mess ( kerala menu) 6. Annapurna mess (kannada mess) 7.kailash mess (south indian) My choice : if ur from south kailash is the best For north people food is pathetic in both the messes

Don't get fooled by how the review is here i am a final year student from NITK the mess food is pure shit not tasty at all and they serve limited quantity only. Day by day the food gets worse. They force us to use mess as there is no other option. At the beginning they'll give good food but as the sem progresses food gets worse. If possible I recommend not to take mess in nitk. And also many of the dishes they show here are not even given
