I have no guilt complex because of selling my models on ebay instead of to the model shop. Model shops will only pay a pittance to buy them off me and then they sell them for good profit themselves on ebay anyway. Plus the model shops like to cherry pick; they won't buy all the items you might want to sell. Besides, the money I raise often gets spent on new stuff bought from the model shops.

I haven’t stopped I just been working on my lads layout which I will cover in the future once we’ve ironed out the kinks. I’ve also got a OO9 project I’m about to start. At least I’m still active when was the last time you saw something new by Everard Junction or OOneil? 😆 It’s a shame you feel that way but until I can make a living off this there will always be life getting in the way. Hopefully I’ll see you as a subscriber again in the future.

@WesternSignalmanАй бұрын
That’s disappointing we where hoping the subject had been broken down into a more understandable and interesting take that people would find informative, I suppose comprehension of the subject can still be be difficult for some, as we say at work signalling is not for everyone.
@JaherickАй бұрын
@@WesternSignalman I think it one of those ‘marmite’ subjects on model railways. I would love to understand signalling, but I have always struggled with it. I had a friend who was a signalman at Tonbridge and he tried to explain it to me, to no avail. I need to see it to understand it, I’ve always had trouble learning things without visuals. Anyway thanks for the great podcasts and I’ll listen again, maybe it’ll sink in this time.

I definitely agree that it's time for Bachmann to start producing 009 train sets. Bachmann Trains USA also needs to produce a 009 set for their Skarloey Railway range.
@WesternSignalmanАй бұрын
A Talyllyn set would be the bees
@NewModelRailway1Ай бұрын
An oval of track with 2 points & some straights gives you 'round & round' + 'Inglenook' play ability & would make great starter sets imo. Hornby could do it in TT:120 and Bachmann could do it in 009.
@WesternSignalmanАй бұрын
The main problem with train sets is space TT:120 and 009 certainly solve that problem but oo should really be considered as an end to end set up in this day and age

Lovely video. The commentary really adds something. Thank you for the nice comments regarding Devonmoor. We loved being there for the weekend. We have a very simple modular system and very few rules, but it shows what can be done when you all work together. The group has been amazing to me since I joined last year and I would fully recommend that anyone getting into the hobby looks out for their local groups , modular or not. The group expertise, encouragement and friendship really is something special. If you see us again it will be a totally different layout, we have so many modules now that we have nowhere to put them all together at the same time, and plenty more being planned and built. Making Tracks have given us an idea though.... Exeter Cathedral anyone!!

Some very nice steady filming and much appreciated. Some beautiful layouts but far too many locos running around with no crew! It looks even more bizarre when you're filming it close up, it's almost we are expecting to see someone running along Shouting stop! stop that train!
@WesternSignalman3 ай бұрын
Possibly, I heard they’re all Just camera shy and duck out of the way when being filmed . Did you know a driver and fireman once did that as they passed a goods train they had invited a couple of girls onto the footplate and thought it would be funny to make it look like the girls where driving the train.

After listening to the first 4 Episodes of Model Railway Replacement Podcast, I saw this video in my feed. A well presented video and a nice look at the show! I recall you had some previous comments that your narration wasn't very welcome or interesting, and that you talked over the noise of the railway... I found your narration interesting and informative, and also didn't override the sounds of the railway you were presenting. Well done!

How odd when I’ve played it back it looks fine to me. I use an iPhone but it is getting on and in need of a replacement (I won’t being going android I’m afraid) I have noticed on occasion it struggles to focus sometimes and at gets the phone needed a full reset after it froze blurry. It’s possible because the size of video there’s a loss of detail.
