Honestly don't remember. Maybe 15-20? 😂 These shots actually don't take as long as you'd think. Since I'm using placement stickers, the balls are set up the exact same. So when I miss, I adjust until i find that perfect angle & spin. Usually 5-10 tries on the hard ones. And this one was harder I think. Haha

Not to critique, but just for the sake of discussion: That 3-ball shot, it seems as though you regretted the english (right spin) to get the shape. You shoot that differently than I, and that is one of my favorite positional shots. I was taught that if you want to get back to the long rail, 2 rails (in this case, the right side long rail. The 3 was over there, and then the 4 of is ovee there), then you go deep towards that cross corner (bottom left) pocket with the cue ball with draw. The deeper you get to that corner pocket, the closer you’ll get back to right side long rail. So drawing it, widening the cue balls angle out towards the other corner pocket, is more important to me than the spin. Though yeah the spin didn’t help ya, like you said! Being one of my fav shots, I was surprised when the cue ball hit that first diamond and not the 2nd or 3rd like how I usually hit these. 100 ways to skin it though, as they say! Nice runout Randy 💪🏼💪🏼 were not pro, so something always comes up when we try and run and you corrected with finesse 🤌🏼

Hey Drew! Appreciate the comments! Yeah, I think my brain just checked out on that 3 ball shot, lol. But I agree. I usually play that shot with straight bottom like you said. And yes, we're not pros so even though we'll occasionally break and run, the patterns & positioning aren't always gonna be perfect (at least, speaking for myself). 😅 And that's one of the reasons I do this. So us amateurs can learn from our (my) mistakes, and figure out ways to correct them. And it def helps when awesome KZbinrs like yourself chime in with their knowledge & experience. 😉 Appreciate ya bro! Hope you heard my s/o to you in that last APA video!

ive been playing like shit lately I qualified for singles regional for 8 ball apa im a 5 just moved down in 9 ball to a 5 again just not with it lately goodluck in vegas we have a norwich ny team out there as well

@@randymallett - Just my opinion. The APA 9 ball is a true equalizer (in general). I've noticed, clear across the APA higher ranked players, there are far fewer dominant 7,8 and 9 players in 9 ball. However, the 5,6,7 who play 8 ball, there are more dominant players.

@BillyO8828 I agree. I think the handicaps are skewed towards the lower and middle tier players much more so in 9 ball. Of course, being an "upper" tier player, I don't care for it all that much. 😜 I beat this same opponent (Danny) 5 games to 0 in 8ball the last time we matched up. OF COURSE, I DON'T RECORD THAT ONE. 🤬😂 I feel I'm actually a stronger 9b player than 8b. But my APA stats show the opposite. Another example, our local "top dog" SL7/9 is basically unbeatable in 8ball. In 9ball, he can be beaten. I wish we had a Masters closer to me. 🫤

i played in a world qualifier in rome, utica im a 5/6 in 8 ball I missed an easy shot to send my team to the finals it sucked it was only my fifth match as a 6 i moved up in the tournament

Bummer! Well, look at it this way. You gained some valuable experience in a high pressure match. So the next time you're in that situation, you'll be more comfortable. And you won't miss that shot. 😉 Just try not to be so hard on yourself. It sucks, but I'm sure you helped your team get there in the first place. Team wins together, team loses together. 👍🏻💯 Although I won the matches I played, my team was also eliminated in the semi-finals (yesterday at 9B WQ's). So I can empathize with ya bro, lol. We had a good run at least.

They'd been last place early every session, but always had a good time. Zero pressure or expectations, and magic happened. Your magic is coming. Just gotta be patient. 😉

Nice run out. You did kind of goof up the position on the ball leading to the 8. I thought to myself when you went to long after the 9 that it made it a little harder than it needed to be. Sure enough, came up a bit short leading to a tough spot on the 8. You still solved it though, nice work. I'm not saying I wouldn't mess it up too, I mess these up all the time and I'm not sure how to get it right consistently

Gongrats on your Vegas trip. Though not so much for this match, but for other matches that you have posted, I recommend watching the 2016 8 ball match between SVB and Josh Roberts. Every shot is extraordinarily gentle. You may have to adjust for your Valley table, but for the Diamonds in Vegas it’s essential.

It prob would have BARELY passed the 4, but I didn't wanna risk it. Looked like the bank shot had a tiny bit more room - but I had to hit it with some speed to keep the CB path nice and tight.
