Can you taste the coffee in these cookies?

Hi there! I remember the coffee taste being subtle. It adds depth to the cookies' flavor, but you can't specifically tell that coffee is in it.

Great that you're bringing these old recipes back and using recipes that so many used from that era. I have 2 old cookbooks of my great grandmother that qre froom 1900, one is a Blue Ribbon, the other I don't remember, they're both packed away, I'll have to unpack them and let you know. Thanks for reminding me. Keep up these great old recipes! Bryan from Canada.

The "off flavor" might come from the cream of tartar. That's the ingredient that gives snickerdoodles their tangy flavor.
@vintagecookery
@vintagecookery Жыл бұрын
I was thinking that! I've never had a cookie with cream of tartar so I wasn't sure if that was a factor to the flavor 🤔

Rinde: 12 muffins. Hope this helps!

I grew up with homemade banana pudding. And it was made from scratch. The custard was made from scratch cooked over the stove top. There was no whip cream of any sort involved and the best part was to eat the banana pudding while it was still warm. I’ve never heard of a recipe That you are presenting here
@vintagecookery
@vintagecookery Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! The best thing about banana pudding is that there are so many ways to make it! What you described sounds yummy and is certainly a popular way to make it. The recipe I made is also yummy and (where I'm from at least) is one of the only ways you find it. If you look into the history of banana pudding you will find even more variations as well! Have a nice day!
