Great video! I love your philosophy of using your camera and pushing their limits on occasion. Some people ‘hide’ their expensive cameras away or become overprotective. Others use it even more to get their moneys worth ;) While I do keep my equipment clean and take great care of them, I would say Im part of the latter group haha.

Waypoints with a Mini 3 Pro? It has that capability? 🤔 How do I not know this? Is it only for photos?
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography2 ай бұрын
We did not test waypoints with the Mini 3 Pro, I do not know if it has that feature. The drone I am using when I try waypoints at the end of this video is the Mavic 3 Cine.

We will be travelling from Tromso to Lofoten next month. Can we rent a drone in Norway Lofoten ? If yes can you suggest some good options from where we can rent ?
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography2 ай бұрын
Hi! I have absolutely no idea if there are drones for rent in Norway. I use my own gear that I have bought, so I'm afraid I can't help you there. Google is your friend :)
@Krozmar28 күн бұрын
There is no renting of drones in Norway, due to you have to be registered as operator of the exact drone you flying not only be the pilot.. And with innsurence and everything, I guess it would be cheaper and less hassle to rent a drone pilot with a drone to take with ya :D

Hi nice shots and great attempts...thanks for sharing all the tips. Helps a lot. btw when you set the shutter speed to 1/5 do you need to put nd filter to the camera to compensate for the bright sun?
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography2 ай бұрын
Yes, at 0:21 and 4:14 in the video I talk about this. We used ND-filters on both the Mini 3 Pro and the Mavic 3 Cine.

Cool! What "method" did you use, waypoints?
@CiprianTrip2 ай бұрын
Did you notice that when applying the in-camera de-squeeze the image is cropped on the monitor? But it's recorded correctly. That's a strange bug and it's difficult to frame because of it.
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography2 ай бұрын
Hmm, I'm getting a bit insecure now, wether I have used the in-camera desqueeze or the desqueeze feature on the Atomos Shinobi. Anyhow, I have not paid attention to any cropping on the monitor, or that it's different between the monitor and the recorded footage.
@CiprianTrip2 ай бұрын
@@SHOOTITFilmPhotography I tested it and there's definitely a crop while monitoring, both on the built-in display and the hdmi out, if you use the in-camera desqueeze. That's why I use monitor desqueezing, even though it comes with a few limitations in what regards monitoring tools. For example you can't use the waveform while desqueezing on the Shinobi. Which makes sense, but it's frustrating.

Go for it! You can definitely get some good shots. One thing I noticed though was the quality difference between the Mini 3 Pro and the Mavic 3 Cine. Much more details and better sharpness from the Mavic 3 Cine, also a lot more pixels to work with (higher image resolution). But it's much more expensive so I would expect that : )

Nice experiment! The hit rate would be so much better if It could take photos in burst mode. So there would be many more chances of the car and drone matching the speed in a photo in every flight. Amazing photos BTW!
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography3 ай бұрын
That's true! Cause even though 1/5 sec shutter speed is a very long shutter speed, it would be "short" in relation, if you have the car and the drone matching their speeds perfectly for let's say three seconds. Thanks for watching!
@shadesshutter3 ай бұрын
The reason it was flying faster backwards is because it was put into sport mode, (Top left N Mode and S mode)
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography3 ай бұрын
No not really, if you look at when it is flying forward following the car at 8:35-8:45 it is in sport mode on that attempt, and I was giving it full throttle. Somehow there was a HUGE difference in speed, it just wanted to keep a very long distance. But I only tried flying backwards that one attempt. Need more tries to figure it out, but I was very surprised about this and I have no logic explanation. Only thing I can figure out is that since I was flying backwards, and the distance to the car was kinda short at the beginning, the drone wanted to increase that distance as fast as possible, hence the high speed. And the opposite - when I was flying forward and following the car, the drone wanted so slow me down so that the distance between the car and drone was increased. I don't know! Maybe there's a setting somewhere, where you can specify the distance to the object when you're in spotlight mode, I haven't looked into that.

Nice video, thank you! I personally think the flares are annoying and I don't understand the hype about them. As you said, maybe it's kind of cool at first if you've never seen them before. I rented some anamorphic lenses a little while back and the flares got old and annoying very fast and I wished I could turn them off. The flares are what makes me hesitant to buy anamorphics. But at the same time, anamorphics look amazing so....I guess it's a compromise.
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography4 ай бұрын
Yes it can very easily become too much, I agree. Just posted a new video from yesterday where I used them in sunset inside a moving car. It is very delicate if you get just the right amount of flare or waaayyyy too much 😊 But I think’s it’s a funt thing to experiment with. Would not use all anamorphic on a client shoot though!

Sorry, but this isn't possible to replicate :( the price for this lighting setup is huge at the begining. Would be good to make a video how to make this kind of photos in cheaper way.
@vtotheiet6 ай бұрын
You don't need the flashes he's using to replacate this in a studio. You can buy cheaper corded GODOX flashes for mid 100's new or less than a hundred second hand. You wouldn't want to replacate this exactly either. The background lighting isn't even and her feet has cross shadows which is unappealing to the eye.

Really lovely to watch ☺ If you had the time (not sure though...😉) it would be extremely helpful to walk through how you light scenes outside the studio. What I mean is going more into detail about the decision you make regarding lighting - where to place the lights, what kind you mood (and hence why you choose this over that), what kind of modifiers, when/why you use more than one light - the placement, decisions about when to turn up/down the ambient outdoor light or the flash power etc. Hope it makes sense 🌱Anyway great video - hope to see a lot more coming from you. I am a new fan from Copenhagen 🤩
@SHOOTITFilmPhotography8 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I will keep that in mind next time we have the opportunity to shoot some BTS. :) For the outdoor photo shoot in this video we only used ambient light, which was specified from the client. They wanted all natural, no flash light or lights for the video part. This saves a lot of time! I'll keep it in mind on my next location shoot!
