Hello, how to handle uncollectible debt with cash basis accounting. I have a few invoices from previous years that I would like to do this for. I would love to hear if there is a way to write off the invoice WITHOUT making anything show up at revenue. Thanks,

when you import the balances, the net income automatically becomes the total of the customer balances. is that ok?

Yes , it's called uncategorized income , but after completion of import just manually transfer uncategorized income to opening balance equity by passing a journal entry

@@quickbookswizard that no matter how many of these QuickBooks tutorials that are out there, the simple fact of the matter is QuickBooks is a great product for somebody with an Etsy side business or running a bake sale for their church, but has no business in a real business when it comes to an accounting platform. If you’re business is in need of doing journal entry uploads due to its volume or complexity you should not be in QuickBooks..
