great Video to see. My best friend and I have Mallorcan/Spanish/English friends who live here. We have known each other over 30 years all because of a small holiday in '89. Lifetime friends can be a rarity and with every visit here, it just gets better - but we miss them so much in between visits. Love seeing the plaza and the statue of St James toward the front of the town. Last time we were here was just before the pandemic started, and its just been difficult to return, but now its all clear and things are running properly we hope to return this year. Keep the videos of Llucmajor coming!! thank you

I have an ex trotter too! Had her for a year and she's 16 but still trots around the school as if she is being trained for trotting again! She's great in jumping, surprisingly, as I was expecting her to be a little more unbalanced but she jumps perfectly (If i do it correctly too 💀). Currently re-teaching her canter as she hasn't done it much since she was 9. Ex trotters seem to be quite bouncy in canter when you first ride it, also the reason why I fell off last week as she was bolting whilst being bouncy at the same time.

Aww thanks for watching Bee! Yes! Suki (the smallest dog) is our secret weapon of mass destruction - when he get's fidgety she climbs onto his knee and he can't move! Bella the Pitbull cross regularly plonks her backside on his feet to stop him from going anywhere, she's built like a tank, they really are brilliant John sitters. They just gives us those extra few minutes to get the tea on!

What a good girly she was getting her teeth done. She’s a credit to you guys, she’s gaining weight 🥰🥰🥰 Love setting Steve with John 💜 it would be much better for Molly to get on from a mounting block, fence, gate.... anything then the ground...or if you have to get on from the ground then stand on the opposite side to what he’s getting on and take the stirrup to take the weight as he gets on so the saddle stays stable on her back and doesn’t move because you can do a lot of damage if you don’t. There are great videos out showing the bad affect getting on from the ground has on a horses back xx keep up the great work your doing amazing xxxxxxx
@bunterslivingabroad97243 жыл бұрын
Yes! I already gave Steve a mild rollocking for that! Getting on her without our step box! He made one especially, I showed him the video and pointed out how she moved when he got on her and how she stayed still when I used the box, he's very slight but still! We keep living and learning and thankfully learn quickly our mistakes - so the big 2 we have learned so far is the banishment of the Portugese bit and to always use the mounting block! Sometimes men will not listen until they see it in concrete for themselves!

I felt more confident after our tourist walk with the horses. Must admit it was great. Love watching horses , they are magnificent animals. Well done to you Sharon. BTW, just found your channel. Hi Muriel, I am sooo sorry! I have only just seen this message! I have no idea how I have missed this! About 10 years ago I used to hack with Rancho Grande (that was on the way to Alcudia) loved it, then until 2 years ago I never had the opportunity to ride again, so I'm starting all over again, we now have Bronte and our new recruit is Mollie - our rescue horse, she's 17, she's slowly putting on some weight but it's taking it's time. Thank you for your comment and sooo sorry again for missing you. Good luck with moving back to Mallorca, especially with Brexit and Covid etc, stay safe xx

Very funny! my sister is really into Christmas and always send me photos of her giant decorated tree and the house all done up. My house has a tiny tree, but I love it, it has antique ornaments on it. It's so small that when xmas is done I just put the whole thing in a box with the ornaments still attached :-) Also I messed up my own toe a few months back, not the big toe but one in the middle. Not with a horse standing on it! but walking in the middle of the night and hitting the bed foot. I hit so hard!! I couldn't bare a sheet to touch my toe. It's been about 3 months now and it's still got a little hump back. Took a good 3 months for the pain to go. No idea if I broke it or not. Felt like I had at the time. It's going to cramp your riding for a few months at least. You can work on your lunging though. But the way if you ever get your lung whip stuck wrapped around your horses tail. Let go of the whip immediately and gently say "Whoa" nice and calm and reduce all energy in your body. Whip should just drop from the tail. Do not hold on to that whip. I speak from experience here ;) then give your horse a nice pat and walk it around a bit to kind of reset the mind.
@bunterslivingabroad97244 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice, I never touch Bronte with the whip, so hopefully I won't get it tangled in her tail but if I do I shall take your advice, many a time I just lunge with the rope without the whip but because I'm teaching her to canter (ex trotting horse) I have the whip as a back up. Re the toe, I once did the same as you too, it kills doesn't it? 😭
@treelore51004 жыл бұрын
@@bunterslivingabroad9724 I never touch my horse with it either! but at the tail of the horse is long and you have the whip behind the horse it can happen. So it's good to know mentally what to do if it should happen to get around the tail :) Yes it really hurts to hit your toe that hard!

@@bunterslivingabroad9724 Happy New Year!! by the way I am also in my 50's :-) I started taking a lessons at the age of 48 having never ridden previously. The curve of learning is slow and it does take a while to have most of it be automatic - years. Also you never stop improving and working on trotting! and directing the horse at the trot. The relationship with your horse gets stronger every year you are together.
@bunterslivingabroad97244 жыл бұрын
I totally agree and a very special bond with a horse, I love my cats and dogs but a horse's love and respect is amazing 😍
@treelore51004 жыл бұрын
@@bunterslivingabroad9724 yes and over time you start to trust the horse and the horse trusts you and that is where you get the courage from and the nerves just decrease. Time really makes it all work. Of course there is still good riding days and less good. That is normal, unless you are an advanced riding riding a horse with a ton of experience. I used to be really nervous but over time my boy has shown me that he's not out to kill me :-) hohoho. He's very mild. But it took years to really be convinced! If I had been more experienced with horses I would have been able to be convinced much sooner! I agree the relationship with a horse is beyond, and I am also a big animal lover. I feel like he is my partner and I think he feels the same.

Removing the music would be much better :-) always good to have the teeth of horses checked out and smooth and sharp edges in the mouth, I use a person that specializes in teeth and not the veterinarian.
