I wear mine walking into the job, especially if there are additional fuel burning appliances on site. You should wear it most places. You won’t believe where you can find CO. Pool heaters are a big offender, and mine kept showing high CO on our rear balcony on a cruise ship

If we use a new equipment, you get 40.4 when it’s calibrated for methane and 18.4 and 12.4 of these levels considered high

Informative video. But I have a doubt. Why does spiral and round duct requires 2 wholes where rectangular ones need only one?
@TruTechToolsАй бұрын
A single point measurement can be used in round or rectangular duct, the accuracy is generally lower with a single-point measurement though. If higher accuracy is desired, a multi-point test using five test holes in rectangular and two test holes in round duct can be performed.

This is awesome!! I have an 8yr old daughter and have been considering a KZbin channel dedicated to teach her the trades. I'm a licensed plumber and HVAC. With all the KZbin kids watch, especially my daughter, i thought this might be something constructive. I'll start following your channel Elana😊

In an era of BS, this is the one thing that’s actually real. A skilled licensed trade doesn’t come easy, but the life it affords is pretty great in the long term. HVAC, plumbing, and electric at the way to go.

Can 327 analyze for Natural Gas ?
@TruTechTools2 ай бұрын
A testo 327 (or all combustion analyzers for that matter) analyze the flue gas after combustion. You would need a combustible gas leak detector (not analyzer) to detect natural gas. :We sell them at TruTech: trutechtools.com/gas-leak-detector.html If you truly mean analyze natural gas for what it is made of, that is usually not found in a protable instrument.

All the nay sayers on KZbin are knocking the hell out of these. I spoke with a well respected HVAC tech a couple of days ago whi said this is all he uses any more. I distinctly remember the pro plumbers who po pood PVC drain pipe many years ago. They swore that would not work too. Im pretty sure the nay sayers are scared shirtless of guys like me that do all my own work. The REASON that I do all my own mechanical work is because every single time i had a so called pro do anything, they fucked up the job. There are very very few real pros out there today. Most are new system sellers, or parts canon people.

Looking to purchase a flow hood for a school district. 5 schools with mostly geothermal hps for every classroom, ranging from 3 to 6 ton for classrooms, gyms are 15 ton heat pumps and cafes are 8 ton. Looking to find a capture hood that will work for all of the systems but not sure if one exists, there's registers that designs are as low as 150cfm and the gym units are 1020 cfm per register. But the returns if I was going to test those in the gym are 3500cfm through a 32x32 grill and in the classrooms many are 24x36 return grills with up to 1800cfm. I've heard if I get the high cfm hood, it won't be accurate for low cfm even though they advertise the hood to be good for like 50 to 2500cfm. Looking to purchase asap but don't want to use something I can't trust. Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help out

Whats funny is the 8.5 duct diameters thing, ive seen manometer manufacturers say anywhere between 8 and 13 ft downstream and 3 to 6 upstream from restrictions or changes in duct. In the real world, when is that ever even close to possible. I havnt found many if at all in my 27 years. So makes you wonder
@HVACRTECH-833 ай бұрын
I know this is old but figured i mention for anyone considering getting this, seems to be ok for smaller airflows like residential and small commercial systems but i havnt had much luck with mine on anything over about 2000 cfm for some reason. I could do a 5 point 6 times and each time would have very drastic varying results like over 1000 cfm off. I try to keep it as strait as possible and timing equal on each hole but just cant trust it.
@HVACRTECH-833 ай бұрын
Honestly not sure how much I would trust any of this guys info here. When asked the tonnage of the equipment he strait up said idk,I never looked at the air handler. How are you going to set required airflow without knowing how much the system should have to begin with? You don't. Some units have a max static of .5,some .7 some 1.0" sooooo..... the equipment/design is where you start and end. Who cares if you get the wanted cfm to each register when the equipment itself may be suffering for it. I just don't get this,I'm also not finishing the video so if he somehow redeems himself I apologize.
