I like the music but totally put of place while you are speaking

WOW, I've never heard of our seen a reflector glass in a lamp. That was an informative learning curve 😊. I do agree with everyone, the loud music is unnecessary and takes away from what you are saying.

Very helpful for what I’m working on. The music’s volume rises at some points and threatens to go over the voice.

I have inherited a lamp identical to this. The shade was ripped to shreds, so I removed all the (appeared to be silk) fabric, and covered in Mardi Gras beads (I'm from New Orleans). Needless to say, it's been a conversation piece ever since. However, there is a hole in the shade, where a finial might be? Seems no need for a finial since the shade just sits on the glass diffuser, just as yours does. What originally went in that hole? Should I now worry about finding a finial for it after all this time?
@coled5090 Жыл бұрын
These shades are usually made to fit both the glass bowl or a harp type lamp. I haven’t seen one of these bowl type lamps to have a finial on the shade, but you could always add one if you wanted to. Although, you’d need something to screw it onto since there’s no harp.

Thank you. Do have an idea where I might find a small lampshade that is clip on style though? I've been looking forever to replace a shade on an antique boudoir lamp.

The best explanation I’ve seen yet on KZbin. Great demonstrations to show how so many different lampshades completely change the look on the exact same lamp. I never knew! :)

Where do you find shades that have the dips in the cross wires that keep s the shade from sliding?

I have a old antique Lamp just like this but finding the large bulb is difficult.
@mohawk14604 жыл бұрын
You can find the bulbs at dedicated lamp stores. They also make adapters so you can use regular bulbs. They are pretty cheap. That's what I got for mine.

Amazon sells Mogul three-way LED bulbs :3
@Sparky-ww5re2 жыл бұрын
you can still buy the 100/200/300 watt 3 way bulbs. Ace hardware is a good place. Granted they are certainly not very common anymore like they were many years ago. Even the mogul 3 way sockets are still manufactured for restoration of a older floor lamp which uses this large bulb.

How do you wire one of these, I have an old one that needs rework and am unable to find any diagrams or component drawings.
@barthglennh6 жыл бұрын
Tom Duke did you find a diagram or figure this out. I started doing the same re-wiring process. It has the same look as this one. I was able to disassemble the top end and removed the lower Levittown cat 573 switch. Need to figure out how to remove the old wires from that switch. I also plan on dissecting the existing wires carefully.
@Laggin66 жыл бұрын
do a search using the phrase "mogul lamp wiring diagram". I just used this diagram to repair/rewire a mogul lamp I picked up for 3.00 at a resale shop and everything works perfectly thanks to the kind person who shared this info. ;-)
@johnbusher63755 жыл бұрын
@@Laggin6 Just finished rewiring one, not too difficult. Guy on youtube has a diagram that is very helpful, I copied it on paper off my laptop. I bought ALL the possible parts I could need as I didn't know what parts were dead and I only wanted to do it once. Parts cost about $70. Could save $ if you wire it without the triple power big Mogul bulb that way you can use the new fangled bulbs. Mogul bulbs get HOT and use lotsa power. Did mine to be as it was when it was first bought and got an adapter for the mogul base so I can use an LED bulb.
