Hi Jason, I have watched your videos and other shoe shine videos for a long time and I have always wondered why everyone is flapping that polishing cloth while shining? Is there some purpose for doing it or is it just a habit?

It tends to create more friction and pops the shine cloth in a faster motion which buffs out the waxes better. Or I am completely wrong and it's all for showmanship. SKOL

What is the shoe cream that you are using? I have a pair of tecovas ostrich as well that are pecan color. The color is amazing, and I'd like to keep that way for as long as I can. I noticed that after using saddle soap and followed by a conditioner. I still get some of the color bleeding off. Can you recommend some products to me?

I'm curious what the slapping of your open palm up and down the leather does? Is it just for the benefit of ASMR or is it an actual shine technique?

Great question; I do it because it helps to quickly spread the droplet of water and slightly dry it before you start polishing out the waxes with the high shine cloth. Sometimes if the droplet of water is too much water on the rag, I like to slap it a little harder and more tones to try to dry or smack off the excess water. I’m sorry if that doesn’t make sense, it’s just about finding the right amount of dampness on the cloth.
