That clean scarlet riff at 1:11:00 gets me. I hope he does much more clean stuff in the future either with periphery or haunted shores.

I worked at Bill's during this time! I couldn't stay for the clinic, but I did a lot of the setup and display of the PRS' off camera and talked to Mark when he arrived. Such a sweet guy. I was so starstruck.

I respect mark and I thought the cold call thing was kinda weird lol isn’t the common ground that both of you guys do music. I totally understand if he feels that way about people who expect something after he listens to their music like an opinion, review or contract haha. I would just give him a cd or link to my music and expect nothing in return lol

I grew up in the 80's and 90's so I'm old school guitar. When I heard Periphery for the first time, my mind was blown. It influenced me to stretch out in how and what I play. My chords have definitely gotten more technical and I went back to relearn Modes.

Hell yea I’m 25 but I love when older people say they still like music coming out now. I feel so many people write new stuff off without listening to a full song and they are missing out!

He's one of those guitarists that don't make we want to practice. He's utterly bland. Jeff Loomis, just to name a metal guitarist, makes me want to practice. He's very clean and technical and he knows music theory. Mark doesn't know music theory and most of the stuff he plays is so annoying to listen to it's just not making me want to emulate him. I listen to Periphery occasionally and I love a lot of their songs but they don't inspire me musically.
@jamsjr443 жыл бұрын
You know how many great guitarist don’t know theory? You sound like someone whose just jealous and lazy if you need someone to inspire you to play.
@dainarose8272 Жыл бұрын
Then do what does inspire you. No need to neg someone who just loves to play guitar and write.
