Huge props for a band of this age and magnitude actually playing a song at a faster tempo than the original recording. Even young bands now slow everything down live and i get it, its for precision but also its a live show, bring some energy. Especially a banger like this. Love SD, love Donald.

My best guess is he told the audience they were recording and asked then not to do exactly what they did. LOUD whistle as they kick the song off. Maybe. Hard telling. Always loved Steely Dan. The intrigue finding out there were only two guys in the band, the rest were top session guys and they would never play shows. My first good stereo was a quad setup and first good album was Aja. I was blown away. Listened to it over and over. I highly recommend it if you’ve never. ❤

Steely Dan was actually a band for the first three albums, but became a duo soon after.

Yacht rock...but I love it. Admittedly, they kinda have a 'better than thou' stigma about them.
@Jordan3DS4 ай бұрын
To be honest, I don't think any band has ever matched the complexity of Fagen's compositions. There's so much detail to every song, it's incredible!
@bumsharvest54934 ай бұрын
@@Jordan3DS Indeed, they have some monumental compositions, especially when considering some later works like, 'Aja' or 'Two against Nature', but remember it was the days of bands playing to impress with compositions like Jethro Tulls full version of 'Thick as a brick ' or Yes', 'Close to the Edge'. There's some complex stuff.

It annoys me too, when youre at a show, be quiet!
@derekd19974 ай бұрын
So i read all the comments. 3 theories: 1. he is mad at a fan for whistling after asking the audience to be quiet (lame if true), 2. He is mad at drummer for cutting him off 3. He is mad at a fan for saying "fuck the Danettes" which is his backup singers which he was introducing when the guy said it
