The boat has a bit of a identity crisis... It is incredibly spacious for a sub 44 ft Catamaran: to get an Island birth, a actually usable desk and reasonably usable double bed in the front of such a small catamaran is quite impressive. It is clearly more a floating home than a racing boat with cabins which is fine, it could be a great live-aboard for a family whilst I would imagine being reasonably priced/affordable to run. But why on earth did they forget about head room? The guy can say he can easily fit whilst standing still but try walking in a rough seaway.

I am curious what the range is? My biggest complaint with the 44 is its designed as a charter boat and has very little range. The 54 is better but not great.

I was wondering the same thing. Fuel capacity seems on the light side to make long passages. But maybe few owners use them in this manner🤷♂️

Strange comments on what I think is brilliant new design from Aquila. It ticks all the boxes. It is 52foot but feels like a 60 ft boat. I had a 44 which was a nice boat but was limited on space amd range for my use.I think for a mid price luxury ocean going power cat this will be a very popular choice. I am still waiting engine room drawings but they are much larger physicaly than the 44. Also they have a large removable hatch for taking in and out equipment saving deck damage and a regular access hatch for day to day. They will have a hybrid and foil version in the future and so the engine room is large enough to cope with those options.

Lovely boat, great for Med or Florida use but unfortunately not suited to UK weather.😊
@clivestainlesssteelwomble766528 күн бұрын
I think they may quickly discover that a long roof line model will find a more realistic market for those dealing with the elements all year round be that extreme heat and sun or explosive storms ... The weather's changing - more extremes, often and more unpredictably 🤷🏻😬 as per this year in the Med the Caribbean, Mexico and Florida. .. So yes push that roof and sides back another two to three meters .. or make it slide/telescope guys. Otherwise it's got a lot going for it.

Wandering hillbilly had an Aquila 54. He had tied off to a mooring ball and the connection from the mooring ball to the anchor broke when they went to dinner and his boat ran aground. For full details just go to his channel.

His 54 got totaled when it ran aground after his mooring ball broke loose in the BVI. Makes me leery of Aquilas. I love their layout and design but all their running gear is hanging out below he hull with little to no protection.

The price of the Yot 41, as you can see on the manufacturer's website yot-power-catamarans.com starts at €475,000 excluding VAT. The model we tested combines all the options (more powerful engines, lithium batteries, etc.) and should cost around €700,000 excluding VAT. Thanks to the configurator offered, you can find out the exact price depending on the options that interest you. Full test to be published soon in Multicoques Mag!

LED flickering means that the wiring wasn't done properly for them which is not something you should see on that kind of boat.
@MultihullsWorldАй бұрын
Um... no, it's a common effect when recording in 4K - in this case, it's the GoPro that should be blamed, not the catamaran 😇
@vvee4725Ай бұрын
@@MultihullsWorld The flicker for LEDs happen because it's being supplied by AC. The alternating current causes the light to cycle on and off causing the flicker. If it was properly powered using DC, with a constant and consistent flow of electricity, LEDs won't flicker. At least good quality LEDs will not flicker. Though you are correct. The camera is capturing that flicker because of the frame-rate mismatch. My point is that kind of boat should have LEDs be completely flicker free. Also there's an argument that even imperceptible LED flicker can be harmful to people or cause some side effects.
