Fluval have been doing that pipe system for years. You can’t cut the pipes they have rubber connectors both ends

Steve nice setup 👍 I'm near to hollybush & I hear black country talk 😏 Your top surround if you turn it upside down as it is & turn your plastic supports around you'll get it all level on top & a slight gap underneath for wires. I've not long shut my tank down after 2yrs with my 252 & kept the base but had my hubby destroy the tank as I had detritus worms & just letting you know it's high toughened/ tempered glass, front & back are 10mm thick & the sides are 7mm & it took some putting through even with an hammer.

Yes I did not realise how strong the accent was untill I played it back. Thankyou for letting me know about the surround I will correct it soon I will need to unplug and move wires the previous owners must have set it up like this. Would like to upgrade evenutally to the 252 or the 315 or possibly a roma in the past I never had a major problem with detritus worms I had the odd few it was small trumpet snails I was over run with them untill I got a few assasin snails they had a field day. Thanks for commenting and letting me know about the lid section and the glass keeping it away from hammers though.
