Dear customer, this is from to7motor factory, thanks for sharing your riding video with our DM motor, our technical team has studied your video, based on the video, your DM motor has been running at high speed for 8 minutes. It may have reached the critical overheating protection threshold set by our system, which caused the motor to slow down automatically. Additionally, in the video, you switched the pedal assist to "0." In this setting, the motor will not operate. To ensure optimal performance, please avoid adjusting the pedal assist to the lowest level of "1." This will allow the motor to continue functioning effectively. Thanks for your understanding!

Hey thanks for the video. Do you recommend 4x4 to get up there?
@VietPho10 ай бұрын
You should be able to get up there even in a geometro. It really depends on the road conditions at the fork and up. One time it got so bouncy going up the fork, I had to make a video and post it on the forums for them to send it higher up to have the roads leveled (which actually got fixed). There are a lot of pot holes too. Me and a buddy of mine use to go up there with a shovel to fix the pot holes. I havent been up there in about 2 yrs but I think a sedan would be able to make it up there. I use to drive my camry there and random spots at Salmonberry road. Just make sure it ain't snowing if you're driving a sedan.

It is a cool motor, very powerful. I wonder if that noise could be dampened by adding some sort of rubber layer or somehow, perhaps it's a bad idea of mine, because it would look odd and the motor needs air cooling

What gear are you in and is pedal assist only or are using the throttle
@VietPho Жыл бұрын
I mostly riding in my custom level 1 pedal assist (torque sensor). On level 1, I have it set to about 250watts. So basically I was riding with 250 watt of assist in this video. I have 11 gears on this mtb and was using mostly the smallest to 3rd smallest cog. The thumb throttle is on the left, when you see my thumb on it, that means I'm for sure using the throttle. I have the thumb throttle set a bit higher to about 350watts at level 1. I like to sometimes ride with my thumb near the throttle and lightly press on it when in pedaling uphill. My average speed on this trail was about 15mph to keep other folks happy. On highest level 3, I have it set to 1750 watts max. I normally only use this on the road when I need to get out of traffic or when im going up an insane hill. I sometimes use max speed when someone in front of me feels uncomfortable with me riding behind them and clearly wants me to pass them and go ahead. My battery builder recommend I dont do more than 40amps continuous discharge) I've been consistantly able to ride the 44 miles of this trail and make it back to my car with about 37 to 40% battery life remaining.

What's the top speed you can consistently hit on flat ground and throttle only?
@VietPho Жыл бұрын
Probably 28 to 32 mph with my current battery (using 1750w) but I dont trust this motor enough to ride throttle only at those speeds for more then 10 minutes (will probably overheat). My Ariel Rider Grizzly Gen 2 stock motors and controllers I can ride forever with 30 to 34 mph and not worry about issues. 1:18:52 and 1:21:19 kinda did a quick throttle only there at the end to see top speed looks like about 30mph
@ashegam Жыл бұрын
@@VietPho wow so even at 1750w you don't trust the motor? Why is that? Is there obvious over heating and you're just being proactive as to not burn the motor or based on other people's experience?
@VietPho Жыл бұрын
@ashegam just being proactive based on what I've read of other people's issue with the motor. This is also not a dirt bike and is not built for going fast. I spent over 1k on this motor because I thought it was top of the line and I wanted to avoid any future issues but little did I know, this motor is not that great per other people's reviews. I Should have went with a bafang for its proven reliability
@ashegam Жыл бұрын
@@VietPho I know the feeling. I have a ebike on order that uses the gen3 motor and started having the same concerns you're having after reading about it. Only thing that gives me some comfort is that they're using a 52v battery, so not the most amount of power going to the motor, and the bike comes with a 2 year warranty. But like you if I were to start with a a normal bike I too would go with Bafang mid-drive as they are so much more dependable though not as powerful, but that's ok. Well from the looks of things you're having fun so don't worry about it too much and just enjoy the rides. Cheers!
