I’ve been wondering, how much do your commissions cost usually? Like if you do work on something like the X plus gargantuas kit what would it run up cost wise?
@legrandzilla23 сағат бұрын
It really would depend on the kit, but on this kit, I would do the set for $500 plus shipping

@legrandzilla which one you prefer? Both have thier merits haha but it was Mecha-G 75 I first saw as a kid haha... as a kid growing up in the 90s I got a set of Godzilla trading cards and Mecha-G 75 was one of them... I recalled asking my mother if I could have a Mecha-G 75 toy... instead she encouraged me to draw him and we both used crayons to sketch a Mecha-G 75 ... now over 2 decades later there's that Mecha-G 75 card I still got and ofc a Bandai Mecha-G 75 and 74 figure 😉

My favorite film is the '33 King Kong. I probably first saw it on television in 1959 at 6 or 7 years old. I have no idea how many times I've watched it but there's one detail that I noticed and have never heard anyone mention. When the ending sequence at the top of the Empire State Building begins the broken manacle is still on Kong's wrist. Near the end, shortly before he falls, the manacle disappears. Beautiful job.

Hey man! New to the game. Ordered myself a T's Facto kit not long ago (still waiting for it to get to me) and I'm curious if you got any tips for what paints and primers to use? I've been gathering up tools for pinning and a dremel for cleaning the model parts up. I've been watching pretty much every video I can but there's not many super in depth guides to these. I've painted some Warhammer models 8n the past to pretty good effect and I know this isn't quite the same but it looks like you've made quite a few of these so far and if there's any tips that come to mind I would be so grateful. I ordered the millennium design version 2 and was thinking of doing a dark dark Grey almost black coloclr scheme with orange highlights on his dorsal plates. Feel free to message me any tips if you felt so inclined. Your work is great looking thru your video library. Thanks in advance if you do end up throwing some tips my way =) - a godzilla fan
@legrandzilla4 ай бұрын
Thanks and best wishes on your kit! With resin painting, I use Rustoleum Sandable Auto Primer, it sounds like the darker grey version would be best, but you can use acrylic primer too. Just be sure not to use enamels because they won't dry properly directly over resin or vinyl. Other than that, I use all kinds of paints. I do not use any particular brand but I use a lot of Badger paints typically. Anything that is airbrush ready is what I prefer, though I dont always use an airbrush. Once I have properly primed and got my acrylic base coats down, I like to use oil washes and dry brush with oils. These are oil paints like used for oil paintings. They dry slowly so they are easy to blend and feather, but you will want to wait a bit for that to dry before spraying it with a matte overcoat.

@@ethanbergendahl5566 This is not an easy one for a begginer. Fill the bottom of the base with Durham's water putty to make it heavy, and use sturdy pins and wires in the parts like arms and tail to keep it from sagging over time, it will be difficult to keep it from sagging.

@@legrandzilla Thats great to know, thank you! In case I end up way over my head, how much would you typically charge for a commission, if you don’t mind me asking?
@legrandzilla5 ай бұрын
@@ethanbergendahl5566 Kits can vary so much in complexity, size and difficulty in shipping that it is impossible to simply say "I charge this much for a kit" The Paradise Big Swing you are doing is a good example of how it could be built and painted, but have problems down the road if not engineered properly. It can also be harder to try to work on a kit that someone has already started, sometimes they need to be taken apart again to do properly, which can be a hassle and difficult. I have charged from $200-$1000 to do a commission with shipping extra.
