The video wasn't encoded properly (maybe). As it can only show 360p with stability.

During our years at Forest Hills HSm I was blessed to be a part of the play productions that Danny created for SING . Gatherings at his home to percolate ideas and rehearse were joyous experiences that led to life-long friendships for many of us. Danny's genius was ever-present, and appreciated and encouraged by classmates and teachers alike. When Danny sat down at the piano everyone stopped and listened, as we knew we were in the presence of someone with musical greatness. What a delight to see how acknowledged and treasured is his work!

I saw Lena Horne's fantastic show on Broadway and in L.A. but I did not realize I was enjoying the talents of Ms. Twine as well!

I remember Danny Troob and his unbelievable talent from my time at Forest Hills H.S. I graduated in 1965 and Danny was one year behind. The seniors won SING that year as they always did, not because their production was the best, but just because we were seniors. Danny was the pianist and original composer of the Junior class SING performance. He wrote original music for the competition! No one else ever did that. The classes usually just wrote new lyrics to established hit songs. When the results were announced and they were as expected, ( seniors always won), Danny's Mom got upset and after everyone left she complained to the Music Department. She was right, the Junior class performance with Danny's original music was the best of the three classes. It was phenomenal. Danny was modest, just as he appears in this video. I did not know him personally in h.s. but was aware of him, his obvious joy as he played and interacted with the performers and his talent. Nice to see he succeeded. Congrats!

slight correction...the 1966 class's Junior Sing was based on "Carmen" (one of Danny's two favorite operas) and yeah, we got robbed. the ORIGINAL score Danny wrote was for our Senior Sing, the following year. I know this because I wrote a good deal of both scripts. and Danny remains my best friend to this day.

Any idea where does he gets his inspirations when orchestrating for Disney films?

@@VFXCommander Largely original. I couldn't trace them to any particular kind of music before the Disney Renaissance - not even to someone like John Williams. You'd have to ask him directly. I'd say it helped that Alan Menken was such a good composer for Disney.
