Since I use Mono Thread it lets me tie the fly without cutting off and tying back on to do the EZ Body. You run the thread to the back of the fly, Slide the EZ Body over the body and then lightly secure it down as you move forward and secure the nose. Move the thread to where you are going to tie them on. Put each eye on and then take two or three wraps of thread over them to hold them in place. Then you advance the thread back to where you want the gill silt. If you are going to use Epoxy you can apply marker to the thread and then wrap it around to make the gill slit. If you are going to use a Light Cured Product like CCG, tie off and tie in some red thread, make a few wraps and then tie off and coat. I use EZ Body Small You can get it from my site at www.buzfly.com/ez-body.html

Brad, Rookie question. Are you cutting the EZ body to tie the eyes or are you tying over the EZ body. Lastly, what size EZ body are you using? Thanks.
@GeorgeSemel10 жыл бұрын
I been tying these since the mid- 1980's, I don't fish the salt like I did, but you can time them in smaller sizes for trout fishing, one of my favorites is the light Olive white and peacock, that is all most a ringer for the atlantic salmon smolts the state stocks, the fall browns love to eat them, for eyes I use plastic or metal bead chain, quick to tie and its my go to fly come late september and october!

An 8wt Rod or lighter would work well. I fish with an 8wt in the salt for bass up to 30lb's You can also scale down the fly to smaller sizes very easy. Good luck.

@bassnbows12 жыл бұрын
Nice fly. Im gonna start some saltwater fly fishing for stripers when I go in early summer. The average size is 15-25 inches, and I was gonna get an 8wt rod, so i could have it or smallmouth fishing as well. Is that to light of a rod for smaller stripers?

Is this dubbing block tool available for sale anywhere online? I have only been able to find the type made from wood blocks without the drop-away piece like this one. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!

2-3 lb regular fishing mono works and if you wanna go smaller, go the the craft shop and ask for mono sewing thread-it's probable like 1lb. Then wind it onto an empty spool that you might have lying around. Hope this helps.
