For me this song is relatable because I'm aroace yet I want to be a mother and I keep praying to have a child through whatever measures and I will do anything to have them and love them, including paying insane amount of money for artificial insemination. And I love my future child(-ren) more than anything already, even though I'm not even trying yet.

How are y'all missing the point so badly? Its a song about a unwilling , abusive mother living vicariously through her kids so they will eventually benifit her someday.

I love the song. Right now I clicked on it as a... lullaby (I know I'm weird but yes, I use fnaf songs and sleep well from poppy playtime 3 to sleep)

The melancholic, regal and ethereal feel the song has perfectly fits White Diamond. She's effectively the God of all gems, creating the other Diamonds and by extension every other gem. Not to mention the lyrics and meaning behind the song.

Art cannot be limited to only one definition so here's mine: This song is about a young mom who has C-PTSD from the trauma she endured from her parents. The way the song describe how she feels once her baby is born gives her deja vú... she was once a helpless creature as well! A baby.. an infant. (and you look into their eyes and find your looking in your own), how could HER parents be so cruel to such creature... to such innocence. (and there's a pain you can't imagine, a special kind of torture you can't feel) then we get to the most prominent lyrics (a cut that bleeds of somewhere deep inside you) she feels extremely connected to her infact while she relieves her parents torture... and lastly... (that screaming little stranger in your arms, might just grow up and save you after all) she WILL be a better mother, she will better herself and leave her self destructive thoughts behind for her new baby. To me this song is Rose Quartz, not White Diamond despite the VA voicing her :]

As FNAF fans, I think we way too easily overlook that multiple kids were kidnapped and murdered in a pizza restaurant, stuffed into animatronic suits, possessing them. They were just kids, their parents took them there to have a good time, not knowing that that would be the last time they ever saw their kids.

I really appreciate lyric videos like this one: 1.) Simple solid black background. 2.) Large and bold words font using simplistic Vivid colors so it's easy to focus on. 3.) And finally the words fade in with each part giving you proper timing of when the Lines are actually said. I keep seeing comments of people saying stuff about them wishing their mothers were like this or saying that this was their relationship with their mother, but they write it as if their mother was good and this song is about a good mother, it's not. The song is about a mother that raises her child/children to be successful so that she won't have to be poor. I think that this matches White Diamond perfectly.

Despite the fact that this was not written for Steven Universe, in all actuality, it could've fit if they wrote White Diamond as a loving mother figure to Pink Diamond who was in extreme grief at the loss of her child. Fan animations depict such a thing, and it's hard not to cry at the meaning of it. The Crewniverse should have depicted her that way, as someone who was in so much emotional distress and grief that her pain could not be imaginable for anyone who didn't suffer such a pain. It would've ultimately led to us sympathizing with her, and would've shed a new light on White Diamond's character, and all the other diamonds as a whole.

I will be honest, I did not have this bond with my mother over my youth, I have shared more of a mother-daughter relationship with my grandmother instead. However, despite my mom not being able to be there from the start, I still love her the same way as I love my grandmother because what matters to me the most is the fact that they are making an effort to be there for you and support you through your endeavors and trying times. With that being said, I want to do the same for my future child, if I ever have one in the end.
