So ein toller Satz! Und ganz prima gesungen - vielen Dank! Hopefully something for our choir.

I note that this performance excludes the percussion part. But why did the composer make the percussion play a repeating 7/8 pattern? It goes against the rhythm of the tune. The percussion would be better complementing the tune than going against it.
@Summertraveling3 ай бұрын
If you look closer you will find that the 7/8 rhythm perfectly complements the vocal parts.

Great tutorial for a non-Latin speaker to learn this piece of music. I may try and sing it in my Southern Baptist Church next Christmas. Hopefully I'll run your view up over the year. Thank you. Steelye Span performs this very well, but a bit hard to catch all the phrases .

you sing that at an SB church and they might just run you outta that church with pitchforks :P (lotta bad blood between Catholics and Southern Baptists)

BRILLIANT! Talk about taking a _journey_ through the Twelve Days of Christmas! It was so unexpected and captivating. I literally laughed out loud the last time they sang Four calling, calling, calling, calling, calling, CAAAALLLLLING, cal... etc. *BIRDS!* If you do this again and you need some expert whistlers, drop me a line! 😉 Great job!

I knew John Jacob Niles and heard him sing this. Originally, it is supposed to be sung with a great amount of freedom and rubato.

Well done, though lacking fire in the allegro appassionato development in comparisons with Fedoseyev's & Serebrier's recordings. Thanks for sharing though.
