Congrats on finishing! I wanted to know what that black layer that you wore was. it looked versatile for both cold/winter/sun and looked like the hood was fitted. I'd like to look into that. . .thanks and congrats!

Outdoor Research Echo hoodie, black with blue highlights to start but wore through on the shoulders 2/3 of the way, then switched to a white one that I summited in. I highly recommend them.

Awesome. I am looking to do this exact section this weekend and I was looking for a video to show a coworker what the emma carling Trail looks like, and I find this one which is exactly what I'm doing this satruday. Emma carlin to that disperse camping area. Thank you!

I've immensely enjoyed your adventures on the AT - so much so that I took last week off work and hiked a few short sections in Maine and New Hampshire myself! Your advice makes perfect sense, especially when it comes to self-care, and it resonates even more based on your experiences on trail. Will we have the chance to follow you on the CDT for your triple crown?

I have plans to finish the Arizona Trail (Pine to Utah Border - stopped because of record snow last year) and the PCT in three sections (NorCal, Oregon, Washington). One thing I realized on this hike is I don't want to spend that much time away from my wife again :-)

Hi Mad Hermit! I saw you on Ramdino and was glad to hear you are doing well! You won’t remember me but we shared a pizza delivery at Partnership shelter about 4? months ago (it was GREAT pizza - thanks for that!). Take care. Stay safe. God Bless.

I do remember you, but am struggling with your trail name. We ordered together and you had some scrapes on your leg that were healing, right? Katahdin was challenging and I'm glad to be back safe with my wife. How did your hike end up?
@TeaParty45
@TeaParty45 Ай бұрын
@@madhermithikes9007 My trail name was Tea Party. Yes, I had a bad fall right before Fontana Dam and had a deep puncture wound (surface is healed but still healing underneath) on one leg and 3 wounds on my arms that are healed. Unfortunately due to an unknown weakness in my right ankle, my trips/falls continued to happen although none as bad as the one I mentioned. As I approached, in the rain, more rocky areas north of Glasgow, Va, I became more paranoid about falling right before Priest and decided it was too dangerous to continue and stopped at mile 816. It was a great experience as I saw great views and met a lot of nice people, like you. I just wish I could have continued. Do you remember a guy named Yard Bird from the Partnership Shelter area? I have been wondering how he was doing? You probably know that Air Head, who was there in the Partnership shelter, finished on Katahdin about 3-4? weeks ago. A Swiss couple, Yellow Knife and Swiss Chocolate were there also. I hiked with them for 3-4 weeks until I decided to stop. They were VERY NICE people. Unfortunately, Swiss Chocolate (the husband) was having knee problems even before Partnership Shelter and it just wouldn’t heal with less mileage days and/or zeroes so they eventually decided to stop at Harpers Ferry. His knee has healed up since they have been home in Switzerland. You may have met Grayman? He finished about 3 weeks ago. Sparrow and her dog, Mica, (don’t know if you met them?) and 7Iron? finished about a week ago. Sorry to run on so long! Take care.
