The cavitation is not the bubbles coming from the center but from the blades. As it throttles up, you can see small bubbles form for an instant at times in the blades. Near the end, you can see a helical bubble trail start to form off the blade tips.

Propeller cavitation comes in different types. As you mentioned, tip vortex cavitation occurs at the blade tips, but there's also hub vortex cavitation which forms around the center or hub

at 0:25, you can see the steam voids trailing off of the prop blades. It's not even hard to see.

If it was cavitation, you would see air being pulled from the water surface
@gdalla116 жыл бұрын
Not true, Ted. cavitation is caused by bubbles of steam, not air. Generated by low pressure areas around parts of the impeller. reducing the pressure reduces the boiling point of water and hence is able to boil at sea temperatures.

The "air" (smoke) in the middle is obviously the exhaust (even a 5 years old could see that), i was talking about the air that apears in the outer edge of the bladess i said in the description, sec 24/25. A ver si pensamos antes de hablar...

I think it's just some damage in the blades, it doesn't matter now, i changed the propeller due to shallow waters hahaha, eventhough thanks for the attention and advice
@DJCuhhhstin9568 жыл бұрын
it was an alluminum prop right? i knew a guy down here who went over some oyster beds by some mangroves, and he had an alluminum prop and it scared up the edges pretty bad, started cavitating real bad lol glad you got it fixed
