I think what I didn't expect was that my disillusionment would not be with non-christians. It would be with the modern church. The modern church is what rejected me, and that threw me for a tailspin. The most bad things I've ever seen in my life came from people who claimed to love the lord, and the lord just happened to agree with what they thought was right. What they thought was right was to bully and cast people out of the community. Everywhere I go I see people claiming Jesus also claim a culture of vengeance and hatred. This is the path I am struggling with, and I don't know how to approach it. When I was young and so passionate about Christ, I had no road map for being scared of people from within and not without.

I can relate to parts of what you’re saying. It’s so necessary for us to remember that people in the church come in all shapes and forms. Jesus went through a lot of the same things✨

I really needed this message! It’s as if the Holy Spirit spoke directly to me through you! My mother is this person for me, she always paints me as something I’m not to everyone around me! Especially my siblings! It’s caused a strain on the relationship I have with them. She always tries to argue with me about the Bible. Saying that she’s read the Bible for years and knows it. Although she isn’t living it. She just uses scripture to argue her point. You know the infamous “honor your father and mother” and though I try my best to please her it’s never good enough. She’s constantly complaining, constantly overlooking me, constantly making me feel like my efforts aren’t good enough for her. And the worst thing is I live with her! (I’m 25) recently got a job and I want to move out so bad!! Plz PRAY FOR ME! So that I can keep my mouth quiet, with a wise head.

Praying for you. I’ve been there. I understand it very well. God is preparing you for greater works in your life. If you can endure this with your mom, you’ll be equipped to handle more. Ask the Holy Spirit for more wisdom to help you honor her while keeping a standard. Let your light shine! Show love and kindness. Sometimes it means letting a person say and do what they wish. Stay focused! Keep your heart pure because when God elevates, you’ll be an impact on your family! He sees all and knows everything.✨ -Blessings
