I am also documenting my journey. I do updates weekly and hopefully my journey can help someone else make this awesome decision and see all that is involved with this journey. I also had a very itchy scalp the first week and after my 1st retie. I misted my scalp with water and that calmed it down. Thank God! I get tired of ppl who never had traditional locs use the excuse of not being versatile as to why they choose sisterlocs. I thought it was just me. I recently bought the shampoo and Conditioner for my 11 months old who just transitioned from using Cetaphil. I realized that her hair is dry after using it, never used to have that issue, she's like a 4b but I'm going to continue because I'm in love with the scent. Hopefully it enhances hair growth too

I think you meant that your hair is low porosity, which is when hair does not retain moisture. And your hair looks 4A, 4B.

Yesterday i tried the spray on leave in conditioner.. I have 4c hair all around 😂. I did a braid out/twist out (braided my roots and twisted the rest).. and I just took it out and I can honestly say, it’s a good product. My curls look okay and it left my hair with moisture!

Thanks for the review. I've been on the fence on buying for my daughter with her thick 4b-4c hair. Will not be purchasing. What I've started doing is going to research the creator of a product. If their hair doesn't look like my daughter's hair, I'm not buying because I'm going to be disappointed. Two good companies that work for Type 4 hair are Strands of Faith and Luvnaturals. Both of the creators have long, type 4 hair.

It's cuz tan is not your skin color. Tan/tan sand tan deep sand is for more for me that's NC 42 to NC 44...you need to go with deep

You need to choose 2 shades lighter than your foundation color. You went like 5 shades lighter and that would cause the ashy look

Your hair definitely looks more 4a/4b than 4b/4c, with LOW porosity. Type 4 hair needs more hydration (water) and that's probably why the product didn't feel as though it wasn't moisturizing. I've tried the Knot My Honey Detangler by Honey Baby on my sons 4c hair and it worked so well!! I would recommend trying it to see if helps with detangling and moisturizing.
