Seems really daft that the default is no heater ! Going to be really confusing for elderly as if they can see flames they will assume it should be heating !!! Wont be recommending to my relatives for this reason.

Helps if you can see the fire properly, instead of the tip of the flames and the canopy..

There are 3 buttons below the hood on the left. turn on the flame first then the other two for half or full heat

As long as the switch on the left is on, you can use the button under the hood on the far right side to turn the light effect on and off
