I have one and it’s impressive, especially when you travel. If Uniden can add this to their 980SSB along with FM, it would be a hard rig to beat. It’ll be on a totally different level.

Mine was set at 04 from the factory not in the hundreds. Should I bump it up a little higher?

@kyletrd6985 maybe a firmware change? I would make note of where it is now. Then see what the top and bottom range is. For example it's at 4 now, but does it go to 10 and all the way to 0? Where is it loudest. The big thing is with the menus. Make notes of your settings so you can revert back.

Doesn't seem very active around me at all. Only radio activity I'm picking up is on a few of the ham frequencies, mainly the SARnet linked repeater system.

yes, it does take work. If there isn't local activity you gotta do things to get it going. Can't sit in front of the radio and treat it like KZbin, gotta get out and touch grass.

The polyphasers should be bolted to something conductive. (like the bus bar) The wire is not going to help ya.

I agree lightning protection is important. I used a morgan systems 3kw arrestor inline on my tower , all legs grounded 8ft. Cop I er rods and copper strap for bonding . Good info 73zzz

Where I lived in Florida it was totally dead moved to upstate New York and it’s totally dead. No locals just skip the damn shame putting up the ham antennas next week gave up on cb Do you like listening to you guys though and what’s up I haven’t seen you on there for the last two weeks there radioman 260 where’d you go? did you give up casting on KZbin started on CB in the 70s sure do miss it but can’t talk to myself

I’ve been using a similar tape that’s made by Scotch for electrical connections. It seals great but it’s rough getting it back off when you need to make changes. Scotch 2228 is the number. 277 -WV
