It’s incredible to see the amount of comic material he crams into less than 15 minutes - even filmed in front of a fairly low key TV studio audience, the final Mandalay routine is pure comic gold from a time that now doesn’t exist. “ whatever will I do with all these peas.”?

Loved Chic all my life. Legendary comedian well known (not personally) by my grandparents so the comic stories were passed down. Always hard to catch the occasional TV appearance in those days but a fair few impressionists perpetuated his unique humour. Making up for lost time on KZbin. Laughing with tears of joy. Thank you.

So the loud, shouty, sweary, unsubtle Billy Connolly claims he based his act on the quiet, dry, subtle, non-swearing Chic Murray. They couldn't be farther apart.

The Clark Brothers are just brilliant. There seem to be only a handful of videos available, but here's a couple of great ones: _Tap Dancing The Clark Brother's "1948"_ • haston thornton • Jan 6, 2011 • YtUegrDxjTQ and at an astonishing, frenetic pace: _The Clark Brothers - Tap Dancers (1955)_ • vintage video clips • Feb 1, 2020 • Nggwtd2ex0k

Much too clever, polished, inventive and original for a lot of people today who know nothing other than the left-wing woke brigade who clog up all the BBC and Channel 4 panel shows. Chic Murray is a legend.
