Really interesting! I recognize Mira Furlan from Babylon 5. (One of my favorite Sci Fi shows, by the way. 😃) But yes - they did make a great use of sound!

I totally agree, Robin. Unfortunately, in a lot of cases, sound takes a back seat. Though some productions - like the new Dune, for instance, make it almost another character! So the battle isn't ENTIRELY lost. ;) Thanks for listening!

I think my favorite part is John saying how a brand needs an emotional connection FIRST (genuine, authentic, from inside/out) to a certain sound to create the most meaningful sonic logo. I agree with his "no one size fits all" concepts too. But, maybe the biggest takeaway for marketing is John saying if your product makes/has a sound component, think about owning it as trademark, sonic logo, brand sound, etc. Oh my goodness, so much more all through this episode... haha! What an interesting conversation, starting at Looney Tunes (Warner) using orchestra and opera and on!! The shifts Jack talks about are so relevant and really reveal a fascinating evolution of the use of sound and music.

I really enjoy your "Image of the Gods" audiobook reading. What other free audiobooks have you done? It's very relaxing like ASMR. You could read an engineering bill of materials and make it sound fascinating.

I think it's unlikely that the sound in the universe is anything we can hear with our own human ears when we're actually *out* there. ;) But it's an interesting exploration of a place we thought was silent ... not really being silent at all. Sound is EVERYwhere!

I LITERALLY just recently learned about this and started looking at various videos...its so interesting...and while I am part of the population who DOES NOT get the tingle (unfortunately)... I DO find it relaxing.
