It’s is water proof. Just don’t let the awning to pool up water on top. It will stretch fabric

Really liked your video. A note or video comment about the fact that the awning and the awning tent room are purchased as separate items would've been good to know. After ordering the tent awning room with floor and finding out it didn't actually come WITH the awning, we're getting into serious money to complete the setup. Still looking forward to using it but it's more than doubled in price!

These are the kind of vans I want to see more of!! I get so sick of people trying to show off vans that cost more than a 2 story 5 bedroom house. I like vans like this that have some character. The insistence on modern people to make everything look modern/industrial/rich is sooooo boring to me. Especially the stupid videos that straight up say…look at my 250k van, I’m 🤑. I love seeing people get creative with the materials the have available rather than van that’s impregnated with Ikea BS. Anyway, great video!

Did your van have back air and heat? Did you remove all that before adding your wood ceiling. Please explain. We have one were working on but can't decide on taking the air and heat out. We don't want to lose our cab air and heat. Thank you
@AlaskaCamperVan10 ай бұрын
Our van didn’t have any air or heat in the back. I’d probably try to keep it, and build around it in some way. Depending on where you are located those could be a luxury. Also doesn’t the van need to be running for those to work? How often will it be used is a good question.
@jilllester40498 ай бұрын
Yes the van must be running for it to work. We do not need it at all. And it takes up so much room.

Retired upholsterer here. I sewed a velcro strip beside the van door zipper and made 2 flaps, (1 out of screen & 1 out of nylon) to close gap at top of van door and also used magnets. Thought seriously about bimini snaps😮 but chickened out.

From my father, who was stationed in Alaska during WWII, two Alaskan mosquitoes can carry a full grown man off and three can drain him dry. So I agree with the necessity of an ARB room. I watched another van camper set his ARB room up and was concerned with all of the open areas. Your solution with the storage hanger and the magnets is, and I feel this is modest praise, the best of brilliant! Absolute genius! I love the tub floor and the way you attach it to the bottom of the van. And I also love the shower/privy tent by the van and ARB room in the opening of the video. Amazingly, I do have suggestions, mainly because I have become aware of tripping and falling and the toll it takes. I would suggest glow in the dark tags on the room's guy ropes and maybe clip some on the bottom of the openings just below the zipper, just to mark them out. But I really love the way you set this up. I would go camping with you any day.
