I wish I could practice first thing in the morning, but I live in an apartment!

Thank you I think I’ll give it a try. I love both MOBA barrels but I particularly like Cocobolo which I also play your C clarinet barrel on an old Leblanc C clarinet. It sounds great. Thank you for what you are all doing over there in Canada! Have a great 2025. Bill. Uk

That’s gonna be one smelly instrument if i skip brushing
@whoitisnot2 күн бұрын
Sounds like a great way to learn to hate the clarinet (and for everyone you live with to do the same). Don't brush your teeth? The first 15 minutes will feel painful? It shouldn't. If you are consistently starting with pain you are definitley doing it wrong.

Great question, Bill. The Lumière features a medium resistance, which is slightly less than your MoBa. It is well loved for its ability to project a refined, sweet, and balanced sound.

Gosh I wish I could practice 2 hours a day … I’m just a hobbyist 😅
@MrSojeft2 күн бұрын
I am a hobbyst too. I practice at least 1,5h a day, but normally it is rather around 2,5h. The max for me is 3h. I usually do 3 practice sessions: in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. If I had a hard day then I do not practice in the evening on that day.

A clarinetist back in the 1920s by the name of Fess William used slap tonging in many of his recordings. For example, in the 1927 song, "Phantom Blues," Williams's clarinet solo at the 56 second mark includes the slap tongue technique.
