Google does not allow downloads of satellite view maps areas. You could use Bing maps satellite view, it can be downloaded for a large area.

For your location I would suggest using the maps, bing maps, and openstreet maps. These are the first two choices under "available maps" on AlpineQuest.

AlpineQuest runs on android devices, you would need a laptop that can install android apps.

The lite free version can not add more maps and is limited in exporting and importing of files. There are other differences but those were why I upgraded to the full version. They list the differences on the web site. www.alpinequest.net/

I shot part of this video last weekend. So 6n16 was open on the 25th, but there were side roads and trails with gates that were closed. Also some of the gates may be closed for rain and kept closed till the road is cleared. Unless it has been closed after i drove on it it should be open but I would check with the forest service or your local ranger station to see if the 6n16 road is going to be open before you go, just in case things have changed.

I just went back today and the gate is now closed, not sure when it will be opened.

How to share data files using share it?

I use the "export as..." option once you have selected the track you want to share. This gives you choices of what file type you want to use. Once it has exported to this file type you can pick share and I then pick email and send the file as an email attachment. There are other option but this is the one I use. To start find the track on the map you want to share. tap the track. A window opens with the track name and date, tap on what looks like an squiggly line on the left of the box. This opens another window with lots of options for the track. (Follow path, export as.., convert to.., details, hide) tap export as. This gives you lots of option, from a GPX file or, KLM, CSV, TSV, DXF, JPG image of the map, or a txt file. Make your choice and a window opens saying the file has been made and it gives you two option, one is to share and one is to tap ok and close the window. Tap share and you can pick what app you want to share too. I pick my email program and send the file as an attachment, but there are many options.
