Hi can you tell a big deference with the XPA-5 in surround sound with a Receiver? I am thinking about getting one. I have Yamaha RX-871 with a pre-out but I did not know if there would be a big deferens in sound quality.

+Gregory Bond I am not sure about surround sound, it probably does make it a bit better, but I have the XPA-3 on my Monitor Audio Bronze series (2014 model, not the brand new redesign unfortunatly) and going from the Yamaha 2030 to the Emotiva is just glorious difference. Now I am just hunting for better speakers. The monitors are ok for movies, although not very efficient and don't handle loud to well before they clip, they are not so great at music. Poor lower octave response for the driver size in them. I highly recommend at least getting your front 3 on a better amp, and I definatly recommend Emotiva, they are just as good as other $5k solid state amps (only not 5k lol)

Nothing compares to discrete amplification. The XPA-7 is the one I'd be interested in. But you need speakers capable of handling all that power :)

Sorry for late answer! The center is great :) I'm having no issues with it, though i have read some people on the internet think it is too small. But just like the 99.26, the sound is much bigger than the size of the speaker.
