11 Million Cubans may disagree with you there with Bacardi. Captain Morgan is more of a liqueur though agreed.

Legally, Barcardi is a rum. Captain Morgan, I believe, is a flavored rum, which is a different legal category, but most laypeople count it as a rum. Legalities aside, whether you enjoy them or not is a different question... :)

there's a nice recipe i spotted off /r/tiki that's been my go to for a while. 2 oz. Beachbum Berry's Zombie Rum Blend, 3/4oz lime juice, 1/2 oz. each: grapefruit juice, falernum, cinnamon syrup, Dash (8 drops-1/8th tsp) each: Pernod, grenadine, Angostura bitters.

Syrup made with turbinado sugar would typically be called demerara syrup.

Interesting. There's both turbinado and demerara sugar for sale at my local grocery. Are they really the same thing?

@@KillDivill Demerara sugar is made in Guyana and typically has a deeper flavor, but turbinado is very similar and a lot of bartenders use it to make demerara syrup.

You should always put the cheapest ingredients in the shaker first.

Now that you've said that, that makes sense. If something goes wrong and you have to restart, you don't have to throw away all your expensive ingredients...I'll make that adjustment when I shoot future videos.
